Re: [ubuntu-uk] Government spending cuts should affect us!
Here's the response from my MP (Rob Buckland, Swindon South, Conservative): Thank you for your e-mail and for all your suggestions about saving the Government money, which are gratefully received. If you think of any more, or know of any more examples of waste that should be looked at, please forward them to me. The Government had a consultation exercise last summer where they invited members of the public to write in and contact us with such ideas. They may have picked up on these ideas about IT, but I will forward them to Francis Maude in the Cabinet Office for a response. When Francis responds, I will forward his response on to you. I should have added that linux is greener than windows and Mac as they are more future proof you can always go to a XFCE or LXDE if your pc is out of date. Would you agree with this? If so I think it's also a good selling point My MP already answered. * Dear Andres, Thanks for getting in touch and sending over these informative links. I don't know the answer, but I will certainly pass this information on to the Treasury department. Very best wishes, and thanks again, Zac Goldsmith -- Andrés Muñiz-Piniella -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/
