You can certainly access Hotmail (or Outlook.com) via Thunderbird on
Linux;-)

Hi,
Or evolution or k9mail but as ms stopped me having access to my
hotmail account, and showing historical mails sent back to the 90's doesn't
count as proof I had the account, I no longer use them!

Outlook? Ah yes, I remember amazed it's still around. I gave
Outlook Express up for Pegasus mail way back in the '80s. This really
brings back memories. Hard to imagine many using a Microsoft program on
an Ubuntu list though.

Hi folk Inline posting is sometimes a pain to do - but almost
always worth the effort when an issue is complex. Let me remind folk of
my own pet hate! When a poster takes 'bottom posting' as an excuse to
post an almost entire thread above a two line almost insignificant
reply. I rarely receive e-mail on a smartphone, but when I do, that
kind of irresponsible bottom posting send my finger straight to the
delete button!

I do understand the reasons why it is a good thing to do. I am often
juggling several tasks at once and my son refuses to allow me to
concentrate on any of them so I can get wound up by anything other than
the straightforward solution.

That said I do appreciate the help. Yes Colin the mail has gone because
I had resolved the issue I believed and deleted it. It's not the end of
the world, it is now consistently US format so I can handle that. It was
jumping between the two that was driving me mad.
