[ubuntu-uk] Spread Ubuntu today

2010-04-29 Thread simon bennie
Hi guys i've decided to spend a half hour today politely emailing news
outlets and tech websites/shows trying to conince them to give a full
reveiew of the new Ubuntu. i got the idea from the forums.

I think it would all be great if we could do this.

So far i have emailed:

click online: cl...@bbc.co.uk
the gadget show :gadget.s...@northonetv.com
engadget: look at the right hand side of the site for the red tip us link.

I'm also planning to spread the news on my facebook account.

If any of you have any other ideas who to email please let me know.

And happy lucid day to you all.

Yep, I think it's a good idea, The Register already did an article about
Ubuntu the other day...

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/04/27/ubuntu_10_04_mac_windows/

Only issue I can see is if news sites are doing something about it for
instance, this morning and people head over to the Ubuntu site they'll
see that 9.10 is still the default (unless they choose 10.04 RC). I
sometimes wonder if they're better off releasing it at 12am?

Personally I'm happy to wait, but I know it's been brought up on the
list before about the release not actually happening until later on in
the day.
