Re: [ubuntu-uk] ubuntu 14.04.1 missing "Open With Decrypt File" in Nautilus?
No worries! Incase you change your mind or become curious (or someone reading these messages does!), it was 'nautilus-actions' i was thinking of (http://askubuntu.com/questions/449009/encrypt-file-with-asc-extension-from-nautilus) good instructions here - you can make your own context menu items (the one mentioned in the link lets you use seahorse to encrypt with a different extension just by right-clicking) to personalise nautilus to your workflow. Re: [ubuntu-uk] ubuntu 14.04.1 missing "Open With Decrypt File" in Nautilus?
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=831061 shows that 'Gerard Fernandes' had the same problem in 2012 that was solved by updating all the concerned packages to their latest versions - mind if i ask what version of /seahorse /and /seahorse-nautilus /you're running, for completion's sake? And also which version (of ubuntu?) you upgraded from? But it does sound like you're fully up to date With the latest/seahorse-nautilus/ at 3.8.0-0ubuntu2 and /seahorse/ at 3.10.2-0ubuntu1 (3.8 vs 3.10) perhaps the seahorse-nautilus package itself is in need of an update to work like it once did - i can remember coming across a similar issue with /dropbox/ and /nautilus//-dropbox/. I'm not sure if downgrading nautilus/seahorse would be the way to go, i would submit a bug report for the package /seahorse-nautilus/ on launchpad and see if it needs a bump to work for the latest version. I can't find a seahorse/seahorse-nautilus ppa anywhere that might have a more exclusive + recent version, but there is(was?) a nemo-seahorse, so you might also solve this by switching to another file manager that has a similar extension? Actually, now that i think about it, i remember a few years ago seeing a program that lets you make your own custom items on the context menu, i'll get back to you if you don't beat me to looking into this route instead. Hope this issue is solved for you soon! [ubuntu-uk] ubuntu 14.04.1 missing "Open With Decrypt File" in Nautilus?
I've just upgraded to 14.04.1, and I find that Nautilus no longer offers "Open With Decrypt File" when I right-click on a .pgp file. (Yes, I can open gpg/pgp files in the CLI; but using Nautilus is quicker.) The first item on the context menu is "Open With seahorse", which is, of course, not helpful. I do have the context menu item to 'Encrypt' when I right-click an ordinary file, and that does work OK. I have the latest seahorse-nautilus installed. Google is not my friend on this one. I'd be grateful for any advice about how to restore the menu item in Nautilus. TIA mac -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/
