[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 308191] Re: Multi fingers touch doesn't be correctly recognized
I've discovered something new (on another laptop): By installing these drivers on my non-multi-finger-capable laptop, I've obtained multi-finger support: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/19/synaptics-driver-enables-multitouch-gestures-on-older-trackpads/ I had initially thought it had upgraded my touchpad firmware... but when I booted Linux again, it went right back to single-finger-only. It seems the Windows drivers must be doing some runtime-only patching of the device firmware. Now, we just need to figure out how to do the same thing in Linux. Anyway, this means that the Windows drivers showing real multi-finger do not necessarily mean the touchpad firmware originally supports multi- finger detection. -- Multi fingers touch doesn't be correctly recognized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308191 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 543045] Re: [RV530] screen flickers in lucid lynx
I see corruption on X1400 with external VGA screen (Thinkpad T60), possibly the same issue? The corruption looks like every other line is offset by a few (up to 10 or so) pixels, like a badly interlaced movie, and the amount of offset moves in waves. For me, this is fixed by changing (in Display Settings / xrandr) to the internal screen and then back. The display is then fine until next reboot. I tried setting radeon.new_pll=0; this did not fix the issue, but it changed the appearance of the corruption somewhat (smaller offset perhaps? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 391215] Re: vga=791 kernel line option breaks tty consoles
Hy! I did some testing around this: Lucid Beta1 livecd, vga=792: proper 1024x768 console and graphical boot Lucid up2date install, vga=792: proper 1024x768 console and graphical boot Lucid Beta1 livecd, vga=865: proper 1280x800 console and graphical boot Lucid up2date install, vga=865: like without the vga parameter (low res console, and text boot) I'm listed the loaded modules when the livecd loaded and with the vga parameter it uses vesafb correctly instead of nouveau as expected... So why can vesafb work on 1280x800 with the livecd, and can't on the installed system? And why can vesafb work on 1024x768, and can't on 1280x800 on the installed system? -- vga=791 kernel line option breaks tty consoles https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391215 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 544131] [NEW] System returns to login screen on resume from suspend i965gm GPU lockup 91905fb7
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Hardware: Macbook 4,1 After updating to the Lucid Lynx Beta 1, the system no longer suspends and resumes correctly. When the lid is closed, the backlight goes off nearly instantly, usually an indicator that it has successfully suspended, which before the update took as long as ten seconds to do. On opening the lid however, the system hangs for ten to fifteen seconds and then presents the graphical login screen. Logging in occasionally presents an error dialogue claiming that the power applet is still running and presents cancel log out and continue anyway as options, with cancel hanging the system and requiring a hard reset. A quick search for fixes suggested updating the nvidia graphics drivers, which was followed through to no noticeable effect. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 541501] Re: [RV515] [LENOVO T60] external screen display shows shivering, horizontal refresh offset
It ends up that 'radeon.new_pll=0' didn't really change the behavior. The screen seemed to flicker just as much. Bryce, 'radeon.modeset=0' really did cause the problem to completely disappear. Note that this behavior was new from at most a couple of weeks ago, at the beginning of March this system was running fine with modesetting enabled and no flickering.
