[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 553200] Re: Mouse and keyboard stop working after selecting user
Same here, I installed nvidia_96 through Jockey today after a buch of updates on a fresh install of Beta 2. nvidia_96 fails to install properly, Then after a reboot, GDM crashes after clicking on a user. GDM restarts after a few seconds. I switched to tty1 and sudo stop gdm startx. Gnome desktop loads with nvidia accelerated graphics. nvidia module is actually loaded and running. Compiz effects are working. But Jockey still reports that nvidia was disabled. This is my kids computer so I cant expect her to login through the cli so its back to nouveau for now. -- Mouse and keyboard stop working after selecting user https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/553200 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-96 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 559883] [NEW] lucid beta-2 X crashes with dual head cinfiguration when opengl is enabled with intel GM945
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I am using a intel GM945 based desktop system (mb: ibase 899) with two dvi outputs and two Samsung 204B LCDs (no others outouts are used). After installation and updating the system (kubuntu 10.04 beta-2) it starts with both displays in clone mode. After enabling dual head functions via xrandr or the systemsettings gui X crashes and restarts automaticly. A workaround is to use xrender istead of opengl (changed in systemsettings). Dual head configuration is workig now, but very slow. For keepeing the dualhead setup and enabling it system wide I use a small xorg.conf (see folling comment and attachement). Testing kubuntu 10.04 beta-1 produced the same error with a segmentation fault in xorg.log. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 559943] [NEW] windows slow to appear and resize (2 seconds)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: compiz With the ATI/Radeon and fglrx drivers and compiz installed, all the effects and acceleration work fine but windows are slow to appear and to be resized. /The delay is one to two seconds and affects all windows/. It affects newly appearing windows, those that are restored after having been minimized, and those that are are resized (afted the selection of the new size is complete). There is no delay for minimizing windows nor for moving them. This bug does not appear when the ATI proprietary drivers are not installed (which is equivalent to disabling Compiz I believe). I witnessed this bug both with Gnome and with KDE. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 560048] [NEW] X.org randomly crashing with Intel i845 video cards
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel It happens at random and only when drawing something: a menu, a notification or something emergent. This bug wasn't present in Jaunty and Ubuntu ran without problems, but with Karmic and Lucid this bug doesn't seems to get fixed. In Karmic it was controlled since I stopped using Kmess which used knotify4 and definetly it caused a lot of crashes (the screen froze and olnly the mouse you could move, you saw everything in the background but nothing reacted). Later I changed to Emesene and that left the crashes to occur only barely randomly if I was using Emesene and Java on Firefox. However, now in Lucid it has become more random and occurs just for the sake of happening. I know the problems with the i845 and those kind of chipsets has come from a long time back, since compiz has came in and the chipset was blacklisted, but please, I would like my computer just work. Thanks in advance. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- X.org randomly crashing with Intel i845 video cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560048 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
