[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 596082] Re: [arrandale] Dell Latitude E6510 unable to use second external vga monitor
I just checked in after a while, but I do not know what happened. I went through the entire bug process and posted it here a while ago, but for some reason it's gone. I won't have the time to test the above for a while as I am really buried with a number of items. This problem still exists and I will try to reply at a later time. @Corona, please continue with your bug as it may get the proper resolution if you can follow up with the requirements. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics. When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 549447] Re: eGalax touchscreen configured as tablet
I used the livecd Maverick Alpha 3 Netbook. Without the usbhid.quirks option, the cursor stays in the upper left corner. With the usbhid.quirks option, I can use xinput_calibrator, set the 'Evdev Axes Swap' and the 'Evdev Axis Inversion' to 1 and have a working touchscreen. Now I've installed the backported kernel (same kernel as in Alpha 3, I believe) on my existing installation, without any custom boot options and the cursor still goes to the upper left corner. On 8 August 2010 00:28, Ernesto Manriquez 549...@bugs.launchpad.net wrote: Finishing my round of spam, according to this: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/76210/ this bug should be ancient history with Maverick Meerkat. My calibration values, coming from an ubuntu 8.10 installation using evtouch, are loaded through a udev rule. Changing them or using no values at all for calibration does not change anything. If I install the eGalax driver (http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eGalaxTouchDriver/linuxDriver.htm), the device is listed twice in xinput list and if I disable the device using evdev, I can calibrate the screen using the eGalax tool and everythings works. With the quirks option, xorg detects two devices for my touchscreen, one TABLET and one MOUSE, both with the same name. Is this normal behaviour? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 588973] Re: Touchpad settings reset suspend/hibernate/resume
I think that the best workaround is to modify the 10-synaptics.conf file located in /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/. All of the options that you place in the touchpad catchall section of the file will be applied when the computer resumes from suspend. However, the GUI settings will override these settings when the computer is restarted. The best thing to do is try to match the 10-synaptics.conf options with your GUI so that it will always work the way you want it to. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 376485] [NEW] Key stuck after switching workspace in Gnome with Keyboard shortcut
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I run an up-to-date Jaunty system. I've experienced this problem since about February when I moved from hardy to jaunty. Not sure where this bug is hiding. I'm using Gnome, but I have quite a bit of trouble with keyboard entry where I suspect scim is the culprit. Help in pinpointing the issue greatly appreciated. I have four workspaces. It happens at times (not always, but frequently enough to be annoying, about 25% of the time, I'd say) that when I use Ctrl+1 to switch to the first workspace for example, that a string of 11 is continually input into any text field in the active window on that workspace. It's almost as if the 1 key was stuck (which is not the case). When I go to Ctrl+2, it will be 22. Hitting Esc will usually end any further input. But almost any key I hit (such as backspace for deletion) will output another 1 or 2 character. The character is always the same as the workspace number that I just switched to. If I was using VoIP at the time this happened, the partner on the other end of the line and me will hear a regularly recurring beep sound. I'd say the frequency is either once or twice per second. dmesg|grep kbd right after this happened will get me [194092.286510] atkbd.c: Spurious NAK on isa0060/serio0. Some program might be trying access hardware directly. Although similar, I don't think I am seeing bug 124406 for the reasons I have given there. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- Key stuck after switching workspace in Gnome with Keyboard shortcut https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376485 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-keyboard in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 615106] Re: gnome-panel not drawn on i810 Intel Chipset
I'll add that at Free IT Athens we have a couple dozen of these machines and can reliably reproduce the problem. The panels simply don't appear when using the integrated intel video. Add a discrete video card and the panels appear fine. It's not a resolution problem, because the mouse pointer stops at the edge of the monitors. We can use alt-f2 to run programs, and they display without any problems. In dmesg you'll see [ 26.436034] [drm:drm_reclaim_locked_buffers] *ERROR* reclaim_buffers_locked() deadlock. Please rework this [ 26.436046] driver to use reclaim_buffers_idlelocked() instead. [ 26.436050] I will go on reclaiming the buffers anyway. I don't know if this is related. -- gnome-panel not drawn on i810 Intel Chipset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615106 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 615174] [NEW] Mouse cursor invisible at boot on i852GME
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel On cold boot with up to date Kubuntu Maverick, the mouse cursor is invisible at boot. Moving the mouse around the login screen reveals that it is still present and is merely invisible. Suspending the machine at the login screen and then resuming will make the cursor visible, and the cursor continues to work correctly through the rest of the session. This behavior has changed since Maverick Alpha 2, when the cursor did work correctly at boot. The bug is similar to bug 475917 and bug 508697. It cannot be fixed by removing ~/.config/monitors.xml (because there isn't one). I am not using the nomodeset or i915.modeset=0 parameters because these were not previously required on Maverick. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 614176] Re: [855gm] 2.6.35-14: Invisible Cursor
** Package changed: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) = linux (Ubuntu) ** Description changed: === Problem === After upgrading to Maverick's -14 kernel, the cursor is invisible. Otherwise it still functions perfectly (hover effects even work on buttons and links), I just can't see it. I have to enable Show position of pointer when the Control Key is pressed in System-Preferences-Mouse to use it. === Debugging === Tested with the mainline kernels: 2.6.35 failed 2.6.35-rc6 passed === Workaround === Suspend/Resume - - I'd love to git-bisect the commits for the 2.6.35 kernel, but there's no - documentation on how to do it and I've wasted all of the last two days - trying to figure out how to compile the thing correctly.
