[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 629910] Re: nvidia 256.53 xorg-server 1.9.0 performance regression with antialiased text
I think 260.19.06 have problems only on GT240 card, only on 64-bit, and in combination with suspend/hibernate. See http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=2320537 That bug (performance) is surely fixed. -- nvidia 256.53 xorg-server 1.9.0 performance regression with antialiased text https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/629910 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 651824] [NEW] Flicking display when things scroll, appear, or disappear (nVidia GeForce 6150)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg The display flickers, for a frame or so showing what looks like other parts of the screen (perhaps previously displayed images) offset, typically along the lower half of the screen. It generally happens when there are updates - particularly new or closed windows, menus, etc. Typing doesn't seem to do it as often, but scrolling sometimes does, as does switching windows. This problem appeared as soon as I booted into the Ubuntu 10.04.1 livecd's desktop. (which would have been using the nouveau driver) and I installed anyway hoping it would be fixed by the proprietary nVidia drivers or other settings. I have tried a lot to fix this, with no luck (it's still doing it as I write this) Attempts included: All available versions of the nVidia proprietary drivers - 96, 173, current (195 if I recall in 10.04, 256 in 10.10) All settings of Preferences - Appearance - Visual Effects Upgrading to 10.10 (note, currently in beta or maybe RC) Different refresh rates. I don't know what else to try, and this problem isn't exactly easy to search for. Please let me know if there are things I can try, or more info I can provide. This issue does not occur in Windows XP on the same computer. (Note, I only have access to this computer for a couple days every two weeks or so. Please be patient if I can't respond right away to suggestions or requests for info that I need to use this PC to answer.) [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 527912] Re: Wacom Bamboo CTH-661 not recognized
Yes, this is not surprising. The IDs are only present in the sourceforge driver, not in the current upstream tree. So MAverick cannot support it. I was referring to the backports modules package for Lucid which provides the sourceforge driver. It is not practical/desirable to mix in a sourceforge driver into the standard kernel code as that generates hard to maintain code. The backports approach may be an option for MAverick too. Though there is considerable change in the area of multitouch code of the kernel and that will likely require some testing to evaluate whether things work there as expected, too. -- Wacom Bamboo CTH-661 not recognized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/527912 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is a direct subscriber. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 650529] Re: Dell Inspiron 14R - N4010, Synaptics touchpad not recognized
I have been looking into this problem, especially Dmitry Torokhov's work around this issue. It appears that there is a patch that has been implemented in Gentoo for the 2.6.32 kernel series. Since this patch is dated 2010-07-29, I am wondering if this patch has been incorporated into the mainline kernel builds. Please confirm. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 640878] Re: No cursor upon upgrade reboot
I think this is a driver issue, though my computer that this occurred on is no longer functional. I was able to get the cursor back by going up to the monitor icon and resetting to monitor resolution. I had the opposite experience: When I rebooted the cursor disappeared, and I had to open sudo lshw -C to restore it. I did a complete fresh install on a new hard drive and now it boots up opens up and subsequently goes screen black with some vertical lines appearing briefly. But an old windows 98 machine shows on the same monitor, proving to me that it's not a monitor issue. In my case, I'm becoming convinced that my 10 year old computer is either developing video card problems or can't be supported by current drivers. - Original Message - From: Bryan Salisbury 640...@bugs.launchpad.net To: j...@citlink.net Sent: Wednesday, September 29, 2010 7:31:22 AM Subject: [Bug 640878] Re: No cursor upon upgrade reboot I've been seeing these issues for the past couple days most frequently on my laptop. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 652198] [NEW] Dead space in multiple monitor configs are accessible by mouse
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I have a dual-monitor setup with the following resolutions: 1: 1920x1080 (left) 2: 1600x900 (right) Therefore, there are 180 pixels of so called dead space underneath the second (right-hand) monitor, which is explicitly not viewable due to physical constraints. The expected behaviour is dealing with this dead space is to not let the mouse enter at all, meaning icons/windows/etc will not become trapped inside. However, ubuntu will let the mouse wander into the dead zone, which, to the unknowing, is quite jarring, as the mouse will have literally disappeared.
