Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 656067] Re: Wacom Tablet mouse-wheel always scrolls down
Bonjour, Well after ./configure you must run make to compile sources. Same problem here. I did a fresh installation of maverick 64-bits and the left click of the mouse get stuck randomly and makes it unusable. I have to unplug it to get the touchpad work and if I plug it again the problem gets back and the left button is stuck. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 301958] Re: [needs-packaging] no working driver for sis 671/771 video cards
With a fresh Maverick installation without this driver, my laptop screen is disabled when I boot with an external screen. After installing this driver, and booting again with external screen, which works fine, my laptop screen shows many coloured vertical lines in a reasonable static way that can burn into the laptop screen. The laptop also has a special button for enabling and disabling laptop screen and external screen, but that doesn't work now but used to work with Karmic and this driver. However, the special buttons for brightness do work. One other issue is that Monitor Preferences in System / Preferences unaware of my screens. This results in the following questions: - How to have Monitor Preferences be aware of my screens? Detection does not work. Can this be fixed? What workaround exists by manually enriching xorg.conf? What tools or websites can I use to find out the proper refresh rates? - How to get the laptop screen working properly when booting with external monitor also to prevent burn in? - How to get the special button for enabling and disabling screens working? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 648671] Re: Touchpad on Thinkpad T400s doesn't support two-finger scroll
This turns out to be a combination of several issues: The kernel driver likely does not have a driver for the touchpad which supports multiple fingers. The touchpad however does support reporting fingerwidth and can therefore be used with two-finger emulation. Two-finger emulation cannot be turned on using the Gnome Mouse capplet. See Gnome bug #625163 Even if one turns on two-finger emulation using the xinput interface, two-finger scrolling does not work. This is because, on Ubuntu, the default value for the property Synaptics Two-Finger Pressure is 280, which is much too high. A Fedora 14 Live CD i booted for testing, had a default value of 29 for that property. Indeed, lowering that value under Ubuntu makes Two-finger scrolling work. See the upstream bug for more info. I don't know why this pressure default value is wrong on Ubuntu. It could be due do a different synaptics version, or due to a patch in Ubuntu? -- Touchpad on Thinkpad T400s doesn't support two-finger scroll https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/648671 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 659154] Re: intel video external monitor resolution problem
I believe I'm seeing this same bug. Mirrored both screens show the full visable area. Non-mirrored, 1 or both screens show only part of the area that should be visible. A work-around (although very much not ideal) for me seems to be to position the laptop screen below the external screen in the layout. However, it should be to the side (same as the relative position of the screens on my desk). This problem (assuming it is the same bug) is discussed here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9980422 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1595620 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9980414 -- intel video external monitor resolution problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/659154 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 662699] [NEW] documented x.org.conf module option is ignored
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati With my IBM Thinkpad I used to have external monitors attached with the notebook lid closed. After upgrading from Debian Lenny to 10.04 and even now after further upgrading to 10.10 the option IgnoreLidStatus in xorg.conf is ignored or at least not recognized, because in Xorg.0.log it says: RADEON(0): Option IgnoreLidStatus is not used Immediately afterwards it says RADEON(0): Option Bla is not used because I inserted a nonsense option named Bla for testing purposes. Thus it reacts the same way to a documented option as it does with a nonsense option. That shouldn't happen I guess.
