[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 734320] [NEW] Left button on touchpad acts like middle click
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Sometimes, and without any noticeable trigger the behavior of the left button on the touchpad changes to what I belive i a simulated middle-click. In Firefox left click starts opening links in a new background tab, and the same thing happens in thunderbird when clicking on mail. Tapping the touchpad works as normal, it's only the left button that's affected. This happens randomly, and persists until the next reboot. Glxgears crashes to the login screen after displaying an empty window frame. I also believe this is the cause of several programs crashing XWindows session to crash the login screen in this version of lubuntu: any XScreenSaver. any Wine program after displaying a empty window frame. any attempt to use Power modes other than shutdown or reboot. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 734487] [NEW] Thinkpad 410s external vga monitor is blurry
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Whenever I plug my laptop into an external monitor (VGA cable) the display on the external monitor looks very blurry. What should be straight lines seem to be constantly 'dancing'. Under Windows 7 on the same machine it works fine. It doesn't matter whether the external monitor is mirroring or acting as a secondary display, still fuzzy. The laptop comes with nvidia optimus (hybrid nvidia/intel) but I've disabled the nvidia chip in the BIOS settings, so I'm pretty sure this should be an intel driver issue. I've tried different VGA cables, but they don't make any difference either. I also tried upgrading to the git intel drivers from this repo but they have the same problem. I tried checking /etc/X11/xorg.conf, but it doesn't appear to exist in Maverick. I also went into the display settings and saw that it said the monitor refresh rate was 60hz and 1980x1020 resolution, just like it should. However, it won't do this with Ubuntu. Instead, the display is stretched across the entire screen, making everything look stretched too wide. I.e. the 1024 pixels is stretched across 1366 pixels.
