[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 769589] Re: touchpad stops working after it has been disapled, and enabled after that
apport information ** Description changed: I've this button side my touch pad that disables and enables my touch pad when i need it and don't need it. But when i have pressed it once, it stops working as it should, but when i try to re enable it, it stays dead until i restart and or re login. I've also found this behavior on all linux distributions i have ever used, so i am pretty sure it is a driver issue. My notebook is Acer aspire 5810TZ, i have no clue about the touch pad itself but i hope you can help me with that. --- Architecture: i386 DRM.card0.DP.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.DP.2: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.HDMI.A.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.LVDS.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1366x768 edid-base64: AP///wAGr+wxAAETAQOAIhN4CmsqnUxChBwNSEwBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBWBtWZ1AAGjAwIDYAWMEQAAAYDwAg/gBBVU8KICAgICAgICAg/gBCMTU2WFcwMyBWMSAKAEg= DRM.card0.VGA.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 DkmsStatus: vboxhost, 4.0.6, 2.6.35-28-generic-pae, i686: installed InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) MachineType: Acer Aspire 5810T Package: xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.35-28-generic-pae root=UUID=88b242ab-5dba-48b3-8b7f-76064b95d414 ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-28.50-generic-pae 2.6.35.11 Tags: maverick maverick Uname: Linux 2.6.35-28-generic-pae i686 UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare dmi.bios.date: 09/29/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: INSYDE dmi.bios.version: V1.30 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: Aspire 5810T dmi.board.vendor: Acer dmi.board.version: Base Board Version dmi.chassis.type: 1 dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacturer dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnINSYDE:bvrV1.30:bd09/29/2009:svnAcer:pnAspire5810T:pvrV1.30:rvnAcer:rnAspire5810T:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnChassisManufacturer:ct1:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: Aspire 5810T dmi.product.version: V1.30 dmi.sys.vendor: Acer system: distro: Ubuntu codename: maverick architecture: i686 kernel: 2.6.35-28-generic-pae --- Architecture: i386 DRM.card0.DP.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.DP.2: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.HDMI.A.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.LVDS.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1366x768 edid-base64: AP///wAGr+wxAAETAQOAIhN4CmsqnUxChBwNSEwBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBWBtWZ1AAGjAwIDYAWMEQAAAYDwAg/gBBVU8KICAgICAgICAg/gBCMTU2WFcwMyBWMSAKAEg= DRM.card0.VGA.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 DkmsStatus: vboxhost, 4.0.6, 2.6.35-28-generic-pae, i686: installed InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) MachineType: Acer Aspire 5810T Package: xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.35-28-generic-pae root=UUID=88b242ab-5dba-48b3-8b7f-76064b95d414 ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-28.50-generic-pae 2.6.35.11 Tags: maverick maverick Uname: Linux 2.6.35-28-generic-pae i686 UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare dmi.bios.date: 09/29/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: INSYDE dmi.bios.version: V1.30 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: Aspire 5810T dmi.board.vendor: Acer dmi.board.version: Base Board Version dmi.chassis.type: 1 dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacturer dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnINSYDE:bvrV1.30:bd09/29/2009:svnAcer:pnAspire5810T:pvrV1.30:rvnAcer:rnAspire5810T:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnChassisManufacturer:ct1:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: Aspire 5810T dmi.product.version: V1.30 dmi.sys.vendor: Acer system: distro: Ubuntu codename: maverick architecture: i686 kernel: 2.6.35-28-generic-pae + --- + Architecture: i386 + DRM.card0.DP.1: + status: disconnected + enabled: disabled + dpms: Off + modes: + edid-base64: + DRM.card0.DP.2: + status: disconnected + enabled: disabled + dpms: Off + modes: + edid-base64: + DRM.card0.HDMI.A.1: +

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 762478] Re: No icons shown in unity launcher
I have this problem as well, I reinstalled Ubuntu from the beta 1 CD and and the Icons in the Launcher were showing but after updating to Beta 2 the problem came back I lost all the Icons in the Launcher. As a kind of workaround I installed Unity 2d which looks and acts much like the 3d version, everything works fine in Unity 2d I think it would be a good idea if Unity 2d was installed along with the main install of Ubuntu so if issues arise with the 3d version you could drop back to Unity 2d which is far better than the Gnome 2x desktop at leased with Unity 2d you can still get the look and feel of the new desktop Ubuntu is promoting -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762478 Title: No icons shown in unity launcher ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 752445] Re: Intermittent white window contents when maximizing/switching windows
Mine is nvidia GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a. The problem is exactly same. For Eg: You open firefox , nautilus, Libreoffice in fullscreen. First two of them are fine and the third, Libreoffice window goes white. Try to shuffle them in order the third maximised window will be white. But for flash videoes like youtube the first attempt to 'FULLSCREEN' makes them white. It's just not natty, I upgraded maverick's compiz to latest version with compiz ppa and even that shows similar problem. May be the latest NVIDIA-CURRENT (270.41.06) drivers conflict with latest COMPIZ (0.9.4+bzr20110415). Problem should be sorted as soon as possible, when we are so close to release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/752445 Title: Intermittent white window contents when maximizing/switching windows ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 752445] Re: Intermittent white window contents when maximizing/switching windows
Yes, 173 version isn't affected with this white windows bug but it has a big issue about the waking up from suspend (at least in my case: nvidia GeForce 6200Go in a laptop so I often use suspend). If I wanna use unity I have to use Nouevau Gallium 3D driver which is working good but approx. 5 times slower.
