I can confirm that the fix in #38 works on my X220T. I haven't updated
the bios or made any other graphical changes.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 772207] Re: version 173.14.30 driver is buggy for NVidia GeForce FX series

2011-07-02 Thread G. Carrillo
I have the exact same video card and issue as T Meyer:

The same bug appears on my NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M with NVIDIA-Current
drivers. The System (11.04) just starts Ubuntu-Classic and the driver is
activated but not in use (jockey). When i edit the xorg.conf File by
adding Driver nv or Driver nvidia the system is unable to boot the x
server.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 763688] Re: [915GM] S-video output doesn't work in Natty (i386)

2011-07-02 Thread evgheni
I have tried to downgrade the driver to maverick version. This did not
solve the problem. My new suspicion is that this is a compiz bug. also
reflected here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/723002.

I will try to disable compiz and see what happens. Will report back
later.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 756540] Re: ATI graphics card fails when RAM increased to 4Gb on Natty Beta

2011-07-02 Thread madbiologist
Given that this problem can occur with older ATI graphics cards (such as
the Radeon HD4350 in the report I mentioned in comment #24), users of
older versions of Ubuntu will be pleased to hear that the abovementioned
patch is included upstream in kernel 2.6.33.15 (Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid
Lynx uses a 2.6.32 based kernel but with DRM from the 2.6.33 kernel
series).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 803926] [NEW] Unity/Xorg crash

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I was commenting on something in Google+ while using Chromium and
Unity/Xorg completely crashed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 573006] Re: Touch screen driver clicks at wrong location

2011-07-02 Thread Gunnar-b
The weird thing here is that when I play back on another computer, its
not nearly as jumpy as the real deal. On the computer its on, it jumps
to y=0 often when swiping in x direction, and to x=0 when swiping in y
direction. It kind of jumps back and forth. It seems to stick in the
direction I move though.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 573006] Re: Touch screen driver clicks at wrong location

2011-07-02 Thread Gunnar-b
I have swapped axes, so the playback didn't exactly look the same as
what I did. But ill describe it how you are suppose to experience it:

First i swipe with a stylus from bottom right to top left, and from
bottom left to top right.

Then I use my finger to do the same. Watch how sketchy it becomes.

Last i touch with my finger, bottom right, bottom left, top right, top
left. (Not in exact corners, but close)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 803926] Re: Unity/Xorg crash

2011-07-02 Thread Dave Gilbert
Looks like an intel driver crash; however can you also say exactly which
version of xserver-xorg-input-synaptics you have
by giving us the output of :

dpkg -l xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

because I wonder if it's actually bug 774978

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 803610] Re: synaptics touchpad upgrade freezes X directly after login

2011-07-02 Thread Bryce Harrington
Curious why gsnaptics would resolve it - does it cause -synaptics to
uninstall?

Anyway, since you guys could work around it, are you ok with that as a
solution for natty, or would you like to see it properly fixed? If the
latter, we'll need a full backtrace (the traces in Xorg.0.log aren't
really that useful except just for proving it's an X crash.)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 804880] [NEW] 3D graphics cause EQ overflowing on Sandybridge Desktop

2011-07-02 Thread Klaus Weidner
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:

- launch etracer (package extremetuxracer)
- after about half a level, the graphics start glitching and EQ overflowing
errors appear in the log.

I initially ran into this with the X-Plane closed-source program, it
runs into issues more quickly. Simpler 3D apps such as glxgears don' t
seem affected.

This report is from running the x-edgers latest release and new mainline
kernel, but the problems also occurred with the stock 11.04 xorg driver
and kernel.

Let me know if there's any additional information that would be helpful.

Ive identified the problem. If i don't set SwapAxes, the problem isn't
there.. However, the touch is useless since it doesn't map anymore..

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 653714] Re: Garbage on X display w/ Dell D800 wuxga nouveau driver (Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 Go AGP rev a1 [NV28])

2011-07-02 Thread pomac
This is odd, to get proper graphics, disable render.

To get a proper pointer, disable hwcursor.

If you disable both, the cursor is still broken

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 803992] Re: Natty update introduced crasher in xorg

2011-07-02 Thread Jeremy Visser
This also affects me. I'm using the GNOME 3 PPA with the NVIDIA binary
driver, and a system update around the same time also broke GDM.

For the record, X seems to work fine when launched from the command line
(and I run, for example, xterm), but GDM still does not show up.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 803992] Re: Natty update introduced crasher in xorg

2011-07-02 Thread Jeremy Visser
I should mention that reverting GDM to version 2.32 from Natty, and then
re-upgrading to 3.0 seemed to partially fix this for me (except now the
login theme uses Ubuntu instead of GNOME 3 styles). I am not sure
whether just reinstalling the GDM 3.0 package would have fixed it as
well.
