[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1077616] Re: 10de:0ca3 (EE) [mi] EQ overflowing. Additional events will be discarded until existing events are processed
Hi there, I think I talked too fast here... I have this morning another crash, like before: X frozen, the mouse can hardly survive in one of the 3 screens I have in xinerama, but nothing more... [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 930936]
(In reply to comment #3) The patch we added to Ubuntu for that bug is attached. It was confirmed to fix the issue by that user, but would be helpful if others could test it as well. it doesn't fix the issue, it merely papers over the crash. would be useful to find a reproducible test case for the upstream git server. What versions do you see this one on? launchpad suggests 1.10 and 1.11, both of which are out of date by now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930936 Title: Xorg crashes after connect bluetooth keyboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/930936/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1122991] Re: color corruption with openchrome on Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2030
News: 1. Booting from Lubuntu 12.10 live CD: Same problem. 2. Clean install from this very Lubuntu 12.10 live CD: Problem is gone. In a clean installation of Lubuntu 12.10, the openchrome driver works well. I cannot see a difference to my previous installation (which previously was Ubuntu, then package ubuntu-desktop removed, and lubuntu- desktop installed). One thought though: My old installation had GRUB 1, which never got replaced during updates. The new installation has GRUB 2. Perhaps this does a better job initializing the graphics Still, graphics are corrupted when booting the live CD, indicating there is a problem to be solved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-openchrome in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1122991 Title: color corruption with openchrome on Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2030 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-openchrome/+bug/1122991/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I experience the same problem with Ubuntu 12.04 and Unity-2d on my Intel dn2800mt motherboard with Intel Atom N2800 with Cedar Trail graphics. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1124214] [NEW] X does not start on alternate after installing in virtualbox
Public bug reported: After installing the 20120213.1 alternate image for precise, I should see X come up on the first boot, but instead it's leaving me at a console login. In the Xorg.0.log, it seems to be having trouble loading the vboxvideo module and fails to ever give me a graphical desktop. I tried installing virtualbox-ose-guest-dkms to see if it would help and got a build error on the module: http://paste.ubuntu.com/1641967/ but shouldn't the failover mode work in vbox too? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1124299] [NEW] Wrong vertical refresh with Nouveau
Public bug reported: Hello, I'm using Linux Mint 14 MATE, 3.5.0-23 x64 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 video card and a ViewSonic VG1921wm monitor. Using the NVIDIA privative driver I can set the monitor resolution to 1440x900 @ 75Hz in Menu Preferences Monitors. Then with the monitor buttons I look in Information and it says that vertical frecuency is 74.8Hz, and when I set it to 1440x900 @ 60Hz, the monitor says that vertical frecuency is 59.9Hz, namely: all works well. But when I'm using Nouveau it has no effect, wathever I set in Menu Preferences Monitors (as user or as root, is the same) the information of my monitor always shows a vertical frecuency of 59.9Hz. My graphical system is crashing with some applications at fullscreen using Nouveau finally showing a your x-system is bad configured (or something like that) message, nevertheless I haven't configured anything else than the refresh rate in Menu Preferences Monitors since I installed Linux Mint, I don't know if it may be related. I've already reported this problem in the Linux Mint forum and they've linked me here. The thread is http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=59t=125253 if your want to take a look. 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System - About Ubuntu *** Linux Mint 14 Nadia 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center *** I don't know if it's a concrete package bug or the nouveau driver is releated to the kernel... I'm not sure which package is failing. 3) What you expected to happen *** Vertical frecuency showed by my monitor should me the same is selected in Menu Preferences Monitors 4) What happened instead *** My monitor always shows 60 Hz as vertical refresh although I select 75 Hz in Linux Mint What can I do in order to get the real 1440x900@75Hz resolution with Nouveau? ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1124299 Title: Wrong vertical refresh with Nouveau To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1124299/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1117563] Re: X hard lockup in raring, can't even switch VTs
I believe I've reproduced this bug here. Steps to reproduce: - load something javascripty that angers firefox and makes it very, very laggy - watch compiz notice this lagginess and helpfully animate the window as non-responsive (shading), making everything even more laggy - switch workspaces - watch your control go away This time, I was able to remotely kill firefox and recover control of the system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1117563 Title: X hard lockup in raring, can't even switch VTs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1117563/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Hmm, in your logs the drmSetVersion() failed message occurs *several* times, not just once as could simply be explained. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1102660] Re: Ubuntu Raring Hard Freezes with AMD Driver
Now that you guys can get the magic SysRq keys to dump a log, and then we can get the ball rolling. I left plenty of logs, but still we need more. I oddly don't even have a SysRq key (I have a Microsoft keyboard that comes with its own funky layout) and I have no clue as to any alternate key commands. When I went on IRC to debug this mess, the devs told me I need to get more proper logs. If one of you guys can do it, it will be appreciated and we can make progress. Anyhow, the links they gave me were to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Triaging#Package_Classification and also https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Debugging but I think we just need to debug Xorg if you guys can get the kernel to respond. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1103236] Re: Choppy and pixelated video on Macbook Air 5, 1. Unable to run/view HD videos at all
Worst case scenario, just grab a screenshot ;-) I should have also said, to make most sense out of those you need to have the dbg packages installed. Ok, so VLC is at the top. That's good as it rules out a whole host of other worries. But we just need to peek inside VLC to see where the time is spent to make sure it is using hw accel (that's where perf top helps). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1103236] Re: Choppy and pixelated video on Macbook Air 5, 1. Unable to run/view HD videos at all
Mplayer is at the top when the video is played directly and in both modes you provided( -vo xv and -vo gl) , just like with vlc. Mplayer -vo xv is a lot better quality than mplayer -vo gl though; probably the best it's performed so far. Also as previously stated-- the issue occurs with every media player, youtube videos (html5 and flash). Any HD video on youtube is really bad quality in HD (especially 1080p) but in Mac OSX all players run with exceptional quality and without lag in all videos. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103236 Title: Choppy and pixelated video on Macbook Air 5,1. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1103236] Re: Choppy and pixelated video on Macbook Air 5, 1. Unable to run/view HD videos at all
Getting flash/youtube to work well is unfortunately wishlist territory since they have yet to enable hw acceleration. In theory, gstreamer is meant to support the video decode engine inside your Ivybridge GPU using va-api. I believe VLC also has a va-api mode, but last I checked it was using an inferior GL engine. mplayer -vo xv uses the last amount of acceleration (the GPU is only used for colorspace conversion and rendering of the result), and amusingly it is the one that uses the least CPU on my system. So my Sandybridge mba can manage playing the 2k Sintel mp4 with plenty to spare. Can you grab the 2k mp4 and the 1080p mkv versions of Sintel and use that to baseline performance of your system? For example, mplayer -benchmark -frames 500 -nosound $sintel -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103236 Title: Choppy and pixelated video on Macbook Air 5,1.
