Hi, I can confirm, that this way I'm able to reproduce the bug as well. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1219753] Re: Dell XPS 12 2013 Haswell synaptics trackpad not recognized anymore in Ubuntu kernel 3.10 and 3.11rc
I've upgraded to the latest saucy 3.11.0-7 kernel, but the trackpad is still not recognized as Synaptics. In kernel 3.8 it did work as expected. ** Description changed: First I installed stock Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail with kernel 3.8. Trackpad was functioning correctly (e.g. two-finger scrolling worked) and was recognized as Synaptics device in /proc/bus/input/devices. Due to very new Intel wireless 7260 hardware that did not work in kernel - 3.8, I had to upgrade my kernel to latest 3.11rc. With this kernel my - Synaptics trackpad is no longer recognized as Synaptics and works as - default evdev pointer (mouse) device, without all the trackpad features. + 3.8, I dist-upgraded to 13.10 Saucy Salamander with kernel 3.11. With + this kernel my Synaptics trackpad is no longer recognized as Synaptics + and works as default evdev pointer (mouse) device, without all the + trackpad features. - I dist-upgraded to 13.10 Saucy Salamander with kernel 3.10 to see if it - may have been fixed there. But unfortunately the trackpad regression is - also there. + This bug report was done with kernel 3.11rc7, but applies also to kernel + 3.10 and the latest saucy kernel 3.11 to which I'm upgraded by software + updater. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1226039] [NEW] frequency of gpu hangs increased dramatically over the weekend
Public bug reported: I am somewhat used to having GPU lockups hang X for me maybe once a week. I've followed a few vague bugs on the problem, but over the past weekend this has grown to every couple of hours. Easy ways to trigger it: changing workspaces too quickly while there is disk activity, or letting the screensaver go into power saving mode on the screen. The last one requires a hard reboot and I end up with the screen in a very dim state after the boot. Have a kern.log, if it helps. This bug was fixed in the package nvidia-graphics-drivers-319-updates - 319.49-0ubuntu1 --- nvidia-graphics-drivers-319-updates (319.49-0ubuntu1) saucy; urgency=low * debian/templates/nvidia-graphics-drivers.{links|links32}.in: - Create links for the new NvIFROpenGL library. * debian/additional_card_ids: - Remove card id 11C4 which is now officially supported. * New upstream release (LP: #1219908, LP: #1222670): - Added support for the following GPUs: o GeForce GT 740A o GeForce GT 745A o GeForce GT 755M o GeForce GT 625 o GeForce GTX 645 o GRID K340 o GRID K350 o NVS 315 o Quadro K500M - Fixed a bug that caused DisplayPort monitors connected to Quadro FX 3800, 4800, or 5800 to remain off after DPMS. - Added the NVIDIA OpenGL-based Inband Frame Readback (NvIFROpenGL) library to the Linux driver package. This library provides a high performance, low latency interface to capture and optionally encode an individual OpenGL framebuffer. NvIFROpenGL captures pixels rendered by OpenGL only and is ideally suited to application capture and remoting. - Fixed a bug that caused applications using CUDA-GL interop to crash when run on X servers with Xinerama enabled. - Fixed a bug that could prevent some double-bit ECC errors from being properly reported. - Fixed a bug which could cause a blank screen when changing house sync settings on Quadro Kepler GPUs with Quadro Sync boards. - Fixed a bug that prevented nested loops with identical loop conditions in GLSL shaders from terminating correctly. This could cause hangs in applications such as Exa PowerVIZ. - Fixed a bug that resulted in corrupt texels when a previously empty texture image was specified with glXBindTexImageEXT. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1226039] Re: frequency of gpu hangs increased dramatically over the weekend
I experience the same issue. I've tested this a bit, and this only happens (to me at least) with Intel Haswell and Iris. I know that almost an identical situation (hangs slightly more frequently) was encountered with SandyBridge, and a patch to X was issued then, and there was a patch for X when IvyBridge came out that also fixed GPU hangs. Wheter or not this is helpful, I hope this gets resolved quickly, as it does unfortunately make the device a pain in the ass to use. ~Quinn Balazs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1226039 Title: frequency of gpu hangs increased dramatically over the weekend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1226039/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 971018] Re: Auto-hide Unity Launcher will not reveal when mouse pushed to left side in VirtualBox or VMware
The problem with Virtual Machines appears to be in the way the launcher (when hidden) is displayed on 12.04 and higher. On 12.04, behaviour has changed. We have now to press the pointer out of the screen in order to display it. Which is a problem when mouse integration is active in the virtual machine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971018 Title: Auto-hide Unity Launcher will not reveal when mouse pushed to left side in VirtualBox or VMware To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/971018/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
