[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1026046] Re: Missing support for thumb resting on bottom of clickpad

2013-10-06 Thread delopez89
This is possibly one of the most annoying bugs that upstream refuses to
fix. It affects a good chunk of the ultrabooks and more and more users
will become affected as time goes on. Lenovo Yoga 11s here.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1236021] [NEW] Online accounts asking for authentication at every startup

2013-10-06 Thread Sandor
Public bug reported:

The online accounts is asking for authentication at every startup. The
power off menu icon turns red till it is actioned. When I open online
accounts, it is asking for authorization. Whether I cancel or authorize
the online account with gmail, at next startup same things happen all
the time. I am sure that the information about the account is stored as
when I cancel the authorization process, it will show everything OK. So
the question is why ubuntu cannot see that at startup.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1232123] Re: Xorg freeze

2013-10-06 Thread Christoph
That command was accepted without error. I restarted lightdm (and later
the machine, too) and face now the following: The login screen attempts
and I enter my password for my user from 13.04. Then, for half a second
the screen is black and the login screen attempts again.

For my clean user, I also did the dconf reset and enter the password.
That time, the screen goes away (no black interrupt) and I receive the
same behaviour as initially reported (mouse active, but no panel).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1222602]

2013-10-06 Thread Timo Aaltonen
got a word from a unity dev about what's happening with opengl 2.x

Yes, the non-working codepath invokes a much more heavyweight Gaussian
blur convolution function. The working codepath also downscales the
image before blurring.

An example of the shader code for the broken pass is as follows.

varying vec4 v_tex_coord;
 uniform sampler2D tex_object;
 uniform vec2 tex_size;
 #define NUM_SAMPLES %d
 uniform float weights[NUM_SAMPLES];
 uniform float offsets[NUM_SAMPLES];
 void main()
 {
  vec3 acc = texture2D(tex_object, v_tex_coord.st).rgb*weights[0];
  for (int i = 1; i  NUM_SAMPLES; i++)
  {
acc += texture2D(tex_object, (v_tex_coord.st+(vec2(0.0,
offsets[i])/tex_size))).rgb*weights[i];
acc += texture2D(tex_object, (v_tex_coord.st-(vec2(0.0,
offsets[i])/tex_size))).rgb*weights[i];
  }
  gl_FragColor = vec4(acc, 1.0);
 };

The NUM_SAMPLES in this case is 10.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 985065] Re: Can't use fr/oss keyboard layout by default

2013-10-06 Thread Alexey Stulov
Same problem. Ubuntu 12.04, lenovo thinkpad t530.

Last update crashed down at first start. Then it updated the system and
after reboot i have same problem.

I've tried to remove my native keyboard layout and after adding it back
i see in preview screen english letters instead of my native letters.
Then i tried to add any other languages(not my native and english) -
same reaction. Every time it was english layout.

So i went to system language menu and saw a warning not all language
packs were installed. After Ok and installation process bar i saw the
same as always the list with my native and english languages at the top
of the list. Everything seems to be alright. But keyboard layout never
switches.

Will it be fixed some day?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1232557]

2013-10-06 Thread Weber Kai
Hi!

Here RESOLVED.

Sorry for late response, I needed to upgrade my whole system to current
for testing.

I have the same new glxgears messages if closed clicking in the close
button. If press esc or with pkill then no error in the console. I think
this is caused by the way glxgears implement main loop.

Thank you very much!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1233545] Re: Screen corruption on radeon chipset

2013-10-06 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Actually we should narrow down which package this bug in, so please...

1. Install package: mir-demos
2. When the corruption is happening log in to VT1 (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and then...
3. sudo mir_demo_client_egltriangle
4. Switch back to VT7: Ctrl+Alt+F7
5. Hopefully you can see a spinning triangle.

Now does the corruption still happen? Does it affect the triangle?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1236056] [NEW] cannot connect to HDMI port on my Ubuntu PC when switching sources on my TV

2013-10-06 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I posted this on several forums (Ubuntu, XBMC, OpenELEC, and Intel) but
no one had an answer. I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me.
I built a PC using an Intel motherboard, my specs are….

Intel DH77DF Motherboard
Intel G1620 Celeron
2 GB Corsair DDR3-1333
1 TB Western Digital hard drive

My TV is a Samsung LN40C630

This box is running Ubuntu 13.04 on it (but I also tested running
OpenELEC 3.2.1 32 bit) on it. This computer is connected to my TV
through an HDMI cable (HDMI port 2 of my TV). Also, my Tivo it
connected to my TV through an HDMI cable (HDMI port 1 of my TV).

THE PROBLEM
When I turn on my HTPC I sometimes leave it on and switch my TV source to my
Tivo so I can watch TV for a while. The problem is that after I’m done watching
my Tivo, when I switch back to my HTPC (HDMI port 2) the screen goes black and
then shows static. This pattern of static and then black repeats every three
seconds or so. It looks like the TV is trying to connect to the HTPC but that
it can’t. This does not always happen, it happens maybe 20% of the time. I can
almost always fix this by switching the TV back to my Tivo (HDMI port 1) and
then back to my HTPC (HDMI port 2) AGAIN. However, this does not always work.
Another tactic is to unplug the HDMI cable coming from the HTPC and plug it
back in. None of these are real solutions though. I did some troubleshooting
and there is what I found…

TROUBLESHOOTING

It is not the HDMI cable or HDMI ports on the TV
I plugged my HTPC into the HDMI port normally used by the Tivo (HDMI port 1)
using the Tivo HDMI cable. Then I plugged the Tivo into HDMI port 2 using the
HTPC HDMI cable. The same problem occurred, the HTPC would periodically show
repeating patterns of static and black. I also have a PS3 plugged into HDMI
port 3 of the TV. Swapping the cables and ports between the PS3 and the HTPC
still results in the HTPC displaying repeating patterns of black and static.
I’ve owned the Tivo and PS3 for several years now, I switch back and forth
between them all the time and I have never seen this problem with either. It is
clearly not the cables or the HDMI ports on my TV.

The HDMI port on the HTPC motherboard is not the problem
I have a DVI to HDMI adapter. The motherboard has a DVI port. I connected the
DVI to HDMI adapter to my motherboards DVI connector connected my HTPC to the
TV using an HDMI cable. So now the picture is coming out of the DVI connector
on the HTPC and going through the DVI to HDMI adapter and then to the HDMI
cable that is connected to the TV. I tested all HDMI ports and the error still
occurs. So now I know that even the source leaving the HTPC through the DVI
output can trigger this behavior. In addition, I was at my local electronics
store and picked us an Asrock H77M-ITX motherboard. The error occurs on this
motherboard too. It is clearly not an issue with the motherboard.

Adjusting sleep timeout, screensaver settings, XBMC skins does not fix the issue
I tried changing the skin on XBMC, turning off screensavers and screen timeout
on OpenELEC and Ubuntu. The same error still occurs.

TV and Motherboard BIOS are probably not the issue
Changing the TV BIOS is not an option because my TV is on the latest firmware.
I cannot downgrade because there is no lesser version of firmware available on
the Samsung site for this TV. The motherboard BIOS is not the issue. I went to
the Intel site and flashed the latest version of their BIOS (version 110) and
the issue still occurs. Then I downgraded to the oldest version of their BIOS
(version 69) and the issue still occurs. Oddly enough, when I load up Intel
VisualBIOS the issue NEVER OCCURS. I can switch back and forth between the Tivo
and the HTPC without any problems when displaying the VisualBIOS. However, the
moment I switch to a Linux distro the error occurs.

Issue only occurs when running a Linux OS.
I tried various builds of Ubuntu 13.04 and 12.04. I also tried various build of
OpenELEC, from 3.2.1 to 1.0.2. All of these OS’s showed this error. I installed
Windows 7 Home Edition and everything worked perfectly. I was never able to
trigger this error using Windows on either the Intel of Asrock motherboards.

The error is HDMI/DVI related, VGA works fine
I have a DVI to VGA adapter and my TV has an VGA port. I connected my HTPC to
my TV’s VGA port using a VGA cable and I did not see this patterns of
black/static. No matter how many times I switched between my Tivo and HTPC I
could not trigger it, regardless of whether I was running Windows or a Linux
distro.

SUMMARY
So to recap…. The HDMI cables are fine. The HDMI ports on my TV and Motherboard
are fine. The error does not occur when I’m running the motherboard’s Visual
BIOS or Windows. The error occurs when I’m running a Linux distro. The error is
HDMI/DVI related. I'm guessing this in an xserver or Intel driver issue. Help!
