commit b16999da214803a026d7246ec4aa62031e82dfc8
Author: Chris Wilson ch...@chris-wilson.co.uk
Date: Wed Oct 9 23:54:57 2013 +0100

sna: Upon unwinding operations, also check for exec objects to clear

If we cancel an operation after partially committing it, we may leave
the batch bookkeeping in an inconsistent state with an exec object with
a zero-length batch. Ordinarily, this would not be an issue as we could
pass the extra object to the next batch. However, if we switch rings, we
need to clear the extra objects as they are currently flagged as being
on the wrong ring, leading to hilarity.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1068920] Re: Pointer screen crossings broken in Xorg server 1.13.0 (regression)

2013-10-10 Thread Timo Aaltonen
finally pushed this to the queue..

** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+
The Xorg server in quantal suffers from the following upstream
  regression for zaphod setups:

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54654
+
+ [Test case]

When you move the mouse into the second screen, it gets trapped there. When
it gets to the
edge where it should move back onto the first screen, it wraps around to the
far edge of the
  second screen again.

I've rebuilt xserver-xorg-core with the attached patch, which comes from the
upstream
bug above, and confirmed it fixes this issue.
+
+ [Regression potential]
+
+ slim, this has been upstream since 1.13.1

- xserver-xorg-core-lts-quantal 2:1.13.0-0ubuntu6.1~precise3 in precise
+ coordinate mapping is off when using a transformation matrix, needs an
+ upstream patch to fix

- = Reproduce Steps =
+ [Test case]

  1. Boot into Ubuntu 12.04.2 live system

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1237677] Re: In 13.10, internal laptop display no longer functioning in graphical mode after plugging into external projector

2013-10-10 Thread Christopher Barrington-Leigh
I spoke too soon. It happened again with an external projector, and
this time using your command brings both displays back, in an
overlapping configuration, but if I then try to adjust anything with the
monitors tool, it turns off my laptop display.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1238193] [NEW] Intel DRM crashes with the attached dmesg errors, warnings appear whilst booting and performance is degraded as a result

2013-10-10 Thread Dannyboy
Public bug reported:

I'm just trying out the beta of Ubuntu Saucy and whilst most of what I
see is fine (I use xfce4) the updated intel driver seems to be messed
up. I'm not sure whether this is a problem with the kernel proper or
with the drivers but it does not seem to like the i915 chipset. It does
work but I get the impression that any hardware acceleration (and I
accept it is limited; this is an nearly netbook I'm using) is I think
simply not available.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1209008] Re: X fails to detect certain video cards on non-seat0 seats

2013-10-10 Thread Laércio de Sousa
Hi there!

Oleg Samarin, who introduced the master-of-seat concept in systemd-
logind, has recently submitted a patch for xorg-server that introduces a
new capability: MatchSeat. The concept is explained here:

http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2013-September/037945.html

and the patch is available here:

http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2013-September/037946.html

As you can see, it includes my small patch for fixing that no devices
detected error. In fact, I've shared privately this patch with him
before opening bug freedesktop#66851, and I believe it makes more sense
to include my patch in a more comprehensive work like his.

I strongly recommend that you try this new patch. I'll finally begin my
switch back to Ubuntu tomorrow, so I can upload to Multiseat PPA soon.

Please explain crashes. The ddx looks fine, but you appear to have a
hotplug interrupt storm triggering a full load detection cycle - which
is caused by userspace.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 946311]

2013-10-10 Thread Bug-track-c
Hi Jani.
If VGA attached on before power on:
only VGA has image. DP has backlight on, but no image.
xrandr list both displays.
After pressing Fn+F8, display switch button, both screens will work.
After this i get some warnings in dmesg.

If VGA attached after boot, both displays are working OK.

Now i able to test HDMI too. And there some issues as well. For example
it is not automatically detected after cable was attached.

Hello Maarten, or anyone else affected,

Accepted mesa into raring-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/9.1.7-1ubuntu2 in
a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1223332] Re: [snb mesa blorp] False GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x7a000002

2013-10-10 Thread Joseph Wakeling
I can confirm that this is readily reproducible by playing HTML5 YouTube
video, although for whatever reason, Apport keeps directing me to this
duplicate -- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-
video-intel/+bug/1224914 -- rather than to this bug. My system is using
Mir+XMir; I don't know if that is relevant, and will test with plain X
in the next days.

I'm seeing no keyboard-related issues whatsoever, incidentally.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1238210] Re: [sandybridge-m-gt2+] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x7a000002

2013-10-10 Thread Joseph Wakeling
Contra to my earlier no obvious reason, I think this lockup occurs
when playing HTML5 video in the Firefox browser (I don't have
flashplugin installed). I don't have experience with other browsers to
compare. The video starts getting slowed up and then freezes entirely,
along with all graphics, while the audio continues; when the system
unfreezes, typically the multimonitor settings seem to reset, with my
laptop screen mirroring my external display (normally the laptop screen
is disabled), and it is not possible then to alter the multimonitor
settings back to where they were.

I'm running Mir+XMir, but I'm not sure if that's relevant -- will fall
back to plain X and see if this behaviour reproduces itself.

This may be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1223332.
