[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1179383] Re: LED Touch Buttons, Touchpad toggle not working in Toshiba Qosmio F60
I think the solution what I am searching can be fulfilled by quickstart. Can some one have a look at this link. http://quickstart.sourceforge.net/ https://www.fortresslinux.org/download/FL-Docs/flhwlist/kernel.html It remember seeing PNP0C32 somewhere in Windows 7 as well. Don't know whether this implemented for my Toshiba in Ubuntu. Hello A.R.NARESH, or anyone else affected, Accepted glamor-egl into saucy-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glamor- egl/0.5.1-0ubuntu4.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . I'm using the fglrx drivers version 13.11 beta version 6 (2:13.250-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit) and only the secondary monitor to have its full resolution and I'm fine, even when resuming from suspend mode. Have you checked the cable you are using and if you are outputting a supported mode to your monitor? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1221403] Re: Pressing Caps Lock toggles LED even when mapped to another key
** Description changed: I have the the Caps Lock and Esc keys swapped; that is, pressing Caps Lock generates an Esc keycode and vice versa. This was done using the options in the keyboard settings, which seem to have disappeared recently. With this setup, pressing either the Esc and Caps Lock keys will toggle the Caps Lock LED. As a result the LED does not accurately reflect the state of the caps lock function. My expectation is that only the key which toggles the caps lock function (in this case Esc) should toggle the LED, and that the state of the LED should always accurately reflect the state of the caps lock function. + -- + For other layout switching problems introduced in Ubuntu 13.10 you can see bug 1218322. + -- + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: unity-system-compositor 0.0.1+13.10.20130903-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-4.9-generic 3.11.0-rc7 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-4-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Sep 5 14:04:28 2013 EcryptfsInUse: Yes GraphicsCard: - Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0166] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) -Subsystem: Apple Inc. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1245730] Re: just installed ubuntu and found this.
The Cinnamon Project is not tracked in Launchpad, the preferred method of reporting a bug against the project as a whole, is to file one here: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues. There are known issues with Cinnamon and Unity not working well together in 13.10. If this issue is fixed in the Ubuntu package, file this on Cinnamon's tracker, and give us a link to the bug. If this is still happening in the Ubuntu package, file against the Cinnamon package in Ubuntu, and link us the upstream report. Before filing anything against Cinnamon, please attach /var/log/syslog to this report. It would also be helpful if you could tell us what the text of the X error that you experienced was, as that will make it easier to tell if we are targeting Cinnamon or X in this issue. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 910539] Re: maximum number of clients reached
I don't think this is an issue with a hardcoded constant in X, not unless someone recently made it much smaller. I hadn't seen this problem at all in 15+ years of using Linux/X, not until upgrading from 10.04LTS to 12.04LTS. More likely it's a newly introduced resource leak in X or gnome. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1242767] Re: computer freeze trying to exit gnome-control-center
Short story: About four days ago I installed the Nvidia-current display driver and removed the Nouveau display driver and my system has not frozen Long story: To remove the “Nouveau display driver” first install the “Nvidia-Current” display driver. I ran into trouble because I removed the Nouveau -specific kernel DRM services -runtime and the “system settings” stopped working. Then I ran into more trouble because I removed the Nouveau display driver before installing the Nvidia-Current. Somehow I was able to go to a shell and installed the Nvidia-current driver with sudo apt-get -install nvidia-current (or something like that). That made the graphics work but still the “system settings” did not work. I reinstalled the Nouveau -specific kernel DRM services -runtime and the “system settings' still did not work. I found out that I needed to install or reinstall de Gnome-Control-Center and I did using “sudo apt-get -reinstall gnome-control-center” or “sudo apt-get -install gnome-control-center”. Since I kept uninstalling and reinstalling the “runtime”, the “reinstall” worked at one point but then it didn't so I finally used the “install”. My system has been working fine since then and has not frozen, but I'm not using the Nouveau Display Driver -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1242767 Title: computer freeze trying to exit gnome-control-center To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1242767/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1222718] Re: Using fglrx, chromium tabs not displaying titles
Update from Chromium's side: I have a workaround for this issue (tracking on this bug http://crbug.com/123104). I am hoping we can get the fix out with Chromium 31, but I can't make any promises at this stage (since we are very late in the Chromium 31 release process). But it will definitely be fixed for Chromium 32. Note that I have not been able to address the root issue. I'm assuming there's a new bug in Cairo but I don't know what is causing this -- it is something to do with the subtle fade effect on the right side of the tab text. My quick-and-dirty workaround for Chromium 31 simply disables the fade effect, and my full fix for Chromium 32 switches to a different text rendering engine for tab titles. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1222718 Title: Using fglrx, chromium tabs not displaying titles To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/chromium-browser/+bug/1222718/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

ohhh i see. thanks all.
