[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246215] [NEW] Ubuntu 13.10, wrong settings for Apple (mouse) touchpad in Macbook 4, 1
Public bug reported: The default settings for the touchpad of a macbook 4,1 in Ubuntu 13.10 render an awkward mouse behaviour that is found during and after installation. The following issues are found: 1) Moving the cursor shows an intermittent behaviour because the parameters for FingerLow and FingerHigh are way too high, hence affecting the sensitivity and requiring more pressure to move the mouse. 2) Having enabled Two-finger tap for right click, using vertical scrolling with two fingers often ends up in a right click. Fixes: I have permanently fixed the settings by editing the first Section block in file /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf Section InputClass Identifier touchpad catchall Driver synaptics MatchIsTouchpad on # This option is recommend on all Linux systems using evdev, but cannot be # enabled by default. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1215449]
Created attachment 88373 Bug fix Hi The attached patch allows you to share the HDMI/DVI clocks when you have 2 monitors using the same exact pixel clock. With this, you can have your 3-pipe setup working if any 2 monitors are using the same configuration. Please notice that you can have 2 modes with the same resolution but not the same pixel clock, so just looking at the resolution doesn't help you: you have to run xrandr --verbose and then look at the pixel clock. On xrandr, the line for a mode will be: WIDTHxHEIGHT (identifier) pixel_clock hsync_vsync Example: 1920x1080 (0x46) 148.5MHz +HSync +VSync To select this precise mode, you have to use the identifier when using xrandr, so you'll do something like: xrandr --output HDMI1 --mode 0x46 xrandr --output HDMI2 --mode 0x46 (only if both monitors support the mode with identifier 0x46) In case you need help, please just attach the output of xrandr --verbose and I'll help you. I have been running kernel 3.12.0-031200rc6-generic for a while now and in 8 days uptime I haven't had any lockups that I recall. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 887933] Re: KDE taskbar (the bottom panel) doesn't respond occasionally
My panel becomes unresponsive several times an hour and this problem has been with me for several months. Any app that I have open and focused on continues to work fine. Apps that are open but not the focus can be swithed to using Alt-Tab. If I close the app that has focus the image in the taskbar stays. The panel can become responsive again in a minute or two, but sometimes it stays unresponsive. The keyboard is always responsive. If I use Ctrl+Esc and open ksysmonitor I can rightclick on the Plasma-desktop line and send it the signal INT. That ALWAYS reactivates the panel and desktop. Since I first noticed the problem in late July or August, the plasma desktop has crashed on my only once. Sending the INT always gets the panel going again. No log shows any indication of any problem with these panel freezes and thaws. Using Kubuntu 12.04.2 xserver-xorg-video-intel (i915) Running KDE 4.11.2 from PPA, but previous versions of KDE had the problem. 3.8.0-32-generic #47~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 2 16:19:35 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux but I've used the 3.2, 3.4 and 3.6 kernels. All had the same problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/887933 Title: KDE taskbar (the bottom panel) doesn't respond occasionally To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/887933/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246203] [NEW] Mouse point does not appear
You have been subscribed to a public bug: It's a weird thing: I have an Apple magic mouse connected via bluetooth to my Dell XPS 13 laptop. When gnome shell starts, the mouse pointer is is not shown on the screen... however if a move the mouse, the pointer it is still not shown but it actually moves... if fact if I keep moving the mouse towards NW (that is where the top left corner of the screen is) the gnome shell overview mode is activated. In order to make my mouse pointer visible, I have to touch the touchpad. From that moment on, the mouse pointer will be visible. It's a minor thing but it can be annoying especially if you disable the touchpad. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246203] Re: Mouse point does not appear
Bluez handles the detection of USB devices. Since the cursor moves (even though it is not displayed), the detection seems to have happened fine. The actual displaying/functionality of the mouse is handled by X, in particular xserver-xorg-input-evdev.
