[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1015183] Re: Inconsistent mouse events for Acer T231H multitouch monitor
For folks using Ubuntu 12.04LTS, and can't use the quantal/raring/newer X server (due to whatever reasons, like maybe a binary-only video driver for a "legacy" video card), this patch may work for you. It's a first attempt at backporting Peter Hutterer's touch-grab-race- condition-56578-v3 branch. Some sections aren't pretty due to all the indentation changes, but it works for me. :) The patch was done mostly by hand. In order to use the patch you have to comment out the following from the series file: 505_query_pointer_touchscreen.patch 506_touchscreen_pointer_emulation_checks.patch 507_touchscreen_fixes.patch Let me re-state, this patch is for xserver-xorg- core_1.11.4-0ubuntu10.*.deb Specifically I based it off of xserver- xorg-core_1.11.4-0ubuntu10.14_i386.deb Please let me know what you think. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1250498] [NEW] haswell, X may freeze after resume
Public bug reported: I'm trying to enable a reliable hibernate/resume cycle on a intel haswell cpu/gpu system with ubuntu 13.10 +xfce. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1250400] [NEW] Sometime the last desktop session will flashback on restart with AMD Radeon HD 8410G[1002:999a] and radeon driver
You have been subscribed to a public bug: CID: 201303-13027 Dell Inspiron 5535 When rebooting the laptop, sometimes you will see the last window / programs that you opened before you reboot the laptop. It seems that it doesn't matter if you did close them before rebooting the system or not. This may raise some security concern. Steps: 1. Install 12.04.3 + update, boot to desktop 2. Open your home folder 3. Leave it there and reboot Expected result: You won't see that home folder shows up during the boot session. Actual result: The home folder will flash back after the logo screen, Not only the file manager, I also saw terminal / Firefox browser / movie player flash back before on this system. And this won't happen if the proprietary driver was installed. Video attached, you could forward to 00:55 to see the flash back. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1250399] [NEW] Missing display from half of monitor (novaeu three screens)
Public bug reported: On a cold boot the first screen on my display, out of three, will show the desktop but with the bottom half of the monitor blank. The desktop is not shrunk to fit the visible section but remains the same size as if the full screen is being used. This results in the lower half of the desktop not being visible. The displays are not mirrored. There are two workarounds: 1. logout and back in again (works every time) 2. turn off the display through system settings -> display and then turning it back on (this sometimes causes the system to hang, pressing [ctrl]+[c] will cause the system to return to login page. When it hangs it states that it cannot disconnect from plymouth. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1068404] Re: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade
@naught101:I would suggest using the default intel drivers and mesa version with the default kernel as well, I think the new drivers should be used with the new kernel you were using, this is why I recommended them in the first place. If you still have this bug with all the packages from the default Ubuntu repository you can file a new bug on Launchpad. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068404 Title: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1068404/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1249794] Re: nvidia fails to install
The problem could be solved. The steps described in various tutorials (remove all existing nvidia- packages, install headers etc.) didn't help even reinstalling. I realized that copying my system to a new disk (ssd :-) ) was uncomplete. After fixing that everything worked again. I don't now what was missing maybe a an apt-get install build-essential would have also helped. There are scattered reports of people with the same problem with various debian and ubuntu versions that might have the same reason. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-304 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1249794 Title: nvidia fails to install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1249794/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
