[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1277138] Re: Screen freezes playing video or music in Chrome.

2014-02-13 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Isaac Ullah, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information. As well, please
note given that the information from the prior release is already
available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would
not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites

2014-02-13 Thread Krzysztof Janowicz
Same problem here and on 3 other laptops in my lab (2x thinkpad and 1x
macbook air).

My Macbook Pro 11.3 has Kernel 3.13. When the screen freezes, sound
(e.g., skype) still works and I can move the mouse but not click.

I 'solve' this by going to the terminal and restarting lightdm:

'sudo service lightdm restart'

but of course this is still not a real solution.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1093399] Re: Separate X screen not working, regression presumed.

2014-02-13 Thread Pablo Piaggio
Hi,

I downloaded and installed trusty. I installed the 331.38 nvidia driver,
updated the system with 'Software Updater', and rebooted.

I'm not able to set separate X screens because there's a bug on nvidia-
settings that won't allow me to save the configuration (option: 'Save to
X Configuration File'). Not able to save it to /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and
not able to save to a file on my user home directory.

There's no different if I run nvidia-settings as a regular user or as
root (gksudo nvidia-settings).

I guess I should report this bug as a new one?

Regards.

2014-02-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

My issues is, after adding a 3rd monitor to Ubuntu 14.04, the mouse
flickers (or blinks) when the cursor is on monitors one or two, but not
3.

Monitor 1: 1440 x 900 - Laptop's Native Monitor
Monitor 2: 1920 x 1080 - Laptop's HDMI Port's External Monitor
Monitor 3: 1024 x 768 - SIIG USB 2.0 to VGA Pro Monitor

Here's the video card that feeds my laptop's native monitor, monitor 2
(hdmi).

The 3rd Monitor is powered through a Display Link certified SIIG USB 2.0
to VGA Pro adapter (A2H1320X1374 - not sure what this number, but it is
a sticker on back of the device):

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1252534] Re: Dual Monitors dont work

2014-02-13 Thread Mike Dorsett
Hi Christopher,
I finally got around to burning a dvd with that software, The results
are the same as before:
See attatchments for screen shot and ipc of displays. One further note:
the screen identifier for the dell screen also appears on the AOC
monitor, as if the actual data is written twice to the same memory area.
This only occurs before the apply button is pressed.

also I am having printer driver problems with both network and local
(USB) printers. In the status box for printer properties i get the
message idle- filter failed. ??? What filter?
I hope that this is of some use to you in resolving the issue, sorry
for the delay, but I had little time recently to devote to this issue.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1279898] Re: New keyboard layout for Albanian

2014-02-13 Thread Getoar
I see the importance level on this item has been changed to "Wishlist."
While I do not challenge that classification, I would like to emphasize
that an alternative keyboard layout for Albanian is on the wishlist of
many users. I think there is a near absolute consensus that a QWERTY
layout based on the US model would be undoubtedly better and more
popular than the official QWERTZ standard.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1238902]

2014-02-13 Thread Carla Sella
I started with compiling kernel v.3.8 19f949f from
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git.
When I boot my PC with kernel 3.8 lightdm doesn't even start and I get a black
screen, I am attaching dmesg from booting on kernel 3.8.
After re-booting on Ubuntu kernel again I get a crash report from Xorg, so I
suppose Xorg crashed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1279898] [NEW] New keyboard layout for Albanian

2014-02-13 Thread Getoar
Public bug reported:

I would like to have at least one alternative keyboard layout for the
Albanian language provided as a distro update or as part of future
releases of Linux distros.

The "official" Albanian layout is somewhat inadequate and highly
unpopular among Albanian users. For that reason, I have created and
published two alternative layouts that take into account the market in
Albanian-speaking countries (dominated by US mechanical keyboards) and
user preferences (for a layout similar to the US model).

You may find more information about the layout on Wikipedia
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albanian_keyboard_layout#Plisi) or on my
Albanian-language website (http://www.plisi.al/softwer/tastiera-plisi-d)
where you may also download the installation files.

Thank you,
GM
