Same problem here and on 3 other laptops in my lab (2x thinkpad and 1x macbook air). My Macbook Pro 11.3 has Kernel 3.13. When the screen freezes, sound (e.g., skype) still works and I can move the mouse but not click. After updating to xserver-xorg-xmir 2:1.15.0-1ubuntu6 on Feb 13th the
system reboots without problems. A whole set of mir packages went
through at the same time; don't know if Daniel's fix was included, but
something fixed my problem at least.

Hi, I downloaded and installed trusty. I installed the 331.38 nvidia driver, updated the system with 'Software Updater', and rebooted. I'm not able to set separate X screens because there's a bug on nvidia- settings that won't allow me to save the configuration (option: 'Save to X Configuration File'). Not able to save it to /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and not able to save to a file on my user home directory. There's no different if I run nvidia-settings as a regular user or as root (gksudo nvidia-settings). I guess I should report this bug as a new one? Hi Christopher, I finally got around to burning a dvd with that software, The results are the same as before: See attatchments for screen shot and ipc of displays. One further note: the screen identifier for the dell screen also appears on the AOC monitor, as if the actual data is written twice to the same memory area. This only occurs before the apply button is pressed. also I am having printer driver problems with both network and local (USB) printers. In the status box for printer properties i get the message idle- filter failed. ??? What filter? I started with compiling kernel v.3.8 19f949f from git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git. When I boot my PC with kernel 3.8 lightdm doesn't even start and I get a black screen, I am attaching dmesg from booting on kernel 3.8. Public bug reported: I would like to have at least one alternative keyboard layout for the Albanian language provided as a distro update or as part of future releases of Linux distros. The "official" Albanian layout is somewhat inadequate and highly unpopular among Albanian users. For that reason, I have created and published two alternative layouts that take into account the market in Albanian-speaking countries (dominated by US mechanical keyboards) and user preferences (for a layout similar to the US model). For me, I found it's gnome-shell freeze everything. I just Ctrl+F1 and run "killall -9 gnome-shell", and Ctrl+F7 go back, everything works again.
