2014-02-20 Thread Nolan+freedesktop
I'm still on 1.12.4 but I'm experiencing this problem as well. Has this
been fixed in any newer version? If so, which? I'd like XFWM's Default
theme to work on my latest Gentoo build.

Can you update to:

Additionally does the pink line appear in VT or is it present only

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 238629] Re: [i965] Java plugin causes massive Xorg CPU usage, fixed with XAA (UXA/EXA)

2014-02-20 Thread David Matějček
It seems that this bug is also cause of the Eclipse 4.x crashes (and high CPU
load and hanging)
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=397291

I have maybe 10 dumps beginning with the following:
# SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x7fe9bb3dd92a, pid=7396, tid=140643637405440
#
# JRE version: OpenJDK Runtime Environment (7.0_51) (build 1.7.0_51-b00)
# Java VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (24.45-b08 mixed mode linux-amd64
compressed oops)
# Problematic frame:
# C [libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0+0x24492a] gtk_widget_queue_draw+0x1a
#

The XAA Option evidently helped.
Firefox did not crash before this change and does not crash even after that.
Eclipse did not crash after this change and is much faster (does not slow down
after hours of work on the big workspace).

Kubuntu 13.10 64bit, Dell Latitude E6520 with i5 CPU.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] Bug with nvidia systems Saucy/Petra GTX560

2014-02-20 Thread Dr. Watson
I have a GTX560 (Non-Ti) on Linux Mint 16 x64 (Petra). The dist-upgrade
chose to install bublebee support! I was banging my head against a wall
for 3 days. I then decided to see why my resolutions were broken and why
CUDA was removed. I did however see bumblebee was included and thought it
may have been a optimization or a merger of codes. I am not an expert with
Linux, but have a high technical level with computers in general. I have 22
years experience ranging from Mac to WinX to Linux. Please make note of
this ?bug? and provide a warning and or a fix for it. It created a
blacklist for the normal Nvidia driver (kernel module). I was using the
fresh crack ppa. Thank you for your time and consideration. You may
contact me with any questions if needed.

2014-02-20 Thread Martin Schonaker
Hi, I've managed to downgrade fglrx, fglrx-dev and fglrx-amdcccle
from Synaptic to version 8.960-ubuntu1, but still I'm experiencing
frequent overheating and reboots.

Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS
Kernel version: 3.2.0-59-generic
Xorg version: 1.11.3
Device: ATI Radeon HD 4670 512 MB

Regards.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1267384] Re: 8086:29b2 [HP Compaq dc7800 Convertible Minitower PC] 82Q35 graphics acceleration performance worse than it could be

2014-02-20 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Maarten Lankhorst, if you are saying a BIOS update wouldn't help address
a verified software bug (ex. bug in the xorg stack), this would go
without saying. However, as well known and documented on Launchpad, BIOS
bugs can cause various problems, including graphics ones. So, your prior
statement would be misleading.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1231857] Re: [DPMS] Display backlight turns back on almost immediately after being turned off

2014-02-20 Thread Daniel van Vugt
This bug is still trivial to reproduce:
  1. mir_demo_server_shell
  2. Alt+P
Expected: Display turns off and stays off
Observed: Display turns off, and then immediately on again. Cursor is visible.

At least a simple test case should make it easy to fix, in theory.
