[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1280892] Re: 1002:4b4b Intermittent crashes of Xserver due to video driver

2014-02-22 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
James Lownie, regarding
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1280892/comments/4 :
The crash happened again and this time Apport captured the crash data, but it
didn't finish the process, it didn't open up the web browser to create a new
bug. So I have a file /var/crash/_usr_bin_Xorg.0.crash...

The reason when you ran in a terminal:
ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_bin_Xorg.0.crash

that when you clicked yes to report this it didn't open a new browser
window is because of a known issue you would need to address as outlined
in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Reporting_an_application_crash
.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1265558] [NEW] Crippled glyphs in X

2014-02-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Every now and then, I see single crippled glyphs in my windows. So far,
it occured on the bash console window, Emacs, and Chromium, so I can
safely say that it must have something to do with the X system itself or
the window manager. I attached a screenshot exhibiting this problem.

It happens after opening a window or scrolling. Marking the characters
with the mouse or otherwise forcing a redraw restores the glyph.

It occurs since Ubuntu 13.10. Before that, I've never seen something
like this.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1267650] Re: fglrx causes segmentation fault on boot

2014-02-22 Thread Lukáš Chmela
I can confirm this behavior since fglrx 12.11 if I am right. The only
exception was fglrx-updates package from Ubuntu 13.04 repository which I
am using now (the fglrx package from the same repository causes system
freeze like all the other versions do).

Relevant (unsolved) threads are probably:

I have Acer Aspire 8943G notebook with AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5850
(Intel IGPU disabled in BIOS).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1283568] [NEW] Desktop crashes when docking/undocking

2014-02-22 Thread Alan Pope ㋛
Public bug reported:

Thinkpad X220 with docking bay with external display attached to it.
I frequently dock and undock my laptop while it's on.

Since about thursday (I think) the desktop becomes completely unusable
when I dock or undock. The screen visibly corrupts, for example when
undocking (and going from 1x1080p external screen to 1x768 internal
panel) or docking. It flickers madly as if it's trying to crowbar
1920x1080 pixels into 1366x768 panel. Switching to VT and suspend/resume
doesn't fix it.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1217585]

2014-02-22 Thread Oleg-3
Still present in 3.13.2-gentoo. I found that -EBUSY returns from
nv50_fbcon_imageblit.

what is wrong in nouveau's way of setting up pgraph.
Does it mean that the bug somewhere in nv50_grctx_generate? Just to be sure
that bug in this function, is it possible to replace it using data from
mmiotrace of nvidia driver? For me it is not obvious how to modificate
nv50_grctx_fill in that case, what nv50_grctx_init should write to *size and,
after all, may it help somehow?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1283568] Re: Desktop crashes when docking/undocking

2014-02-22 Thread Chris Wilson
Hmm, you are driving your panel at 1360x768 rather than its native
1368x768. It would not be the first time something strange happened
trying to do so...

Can you please select 1366x768 as the panel resolution and see what
happens?
