[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1298668] Re: Spanish numpad unusable on most applications

2014-03-28 Thread Martin Pitt
Can you please be a little more specific how the keys misbehave? I. e.
which keys did you press, what did you expect to happen, what happened
instead? This isn't clear (at least to me, I'm not an X.org specialist)
from the xmodmap lines. Thanks!

2014-03-28 Thread Chris Wilson
Damn. That stacktrace is useless. Appears to be a crash in the recovery
code after batch submission fails - that failure and resulting crash may
have the same root cause.

But until I have symbols, I can only review the code and hope I spot
something.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1298668] Re: Spanish numpad unusable on most applications

2014-03-28 Thread Nilfred
Hardware requirements:
Standard 104 keys keyboard with numeric pad. Any language.

How to reproduce:
Open Calc.
Write using just the numpad:
2*7/2.5
Will result in this Malformed expression instead:
2⋅7∕2,5

For console guys, try these commands using the numpad: ls /, ls *, cd ..:
ls ∕
ls: no se puede acceder a ∕: No existe el archivo o el directorio
ls ⋅
ls: no se puede acceder a ⋅: No existe el archivo o el directorio
cd ,,
bash: cd: ,,: No existe el archivo o el directorio;

The keys that misbehave are:
Numeric keypad dash
Numeric keypad asterisk
Numeric keypad decimal

What did you expect to happen?
Numeric keypad dash should output a dash (/)
Numeric keypad asterisk should output an asterisk (*)
Numeric keypad decimal should output a decimal dot (.)

What happened instead?
Numeric keypad dash outputs a non standard dash (∕)
Numeric keypad asterisk outputs an elevated dot (⋅)
Numeric keypad decimal outputs a decimal comma (,)

Selecting English (EEUU) or English (EEUU international with dead
keys) as layout does not solve this bug, so I must remove Spanish
from the title.

** Summary changed:

- Spanish numpad unusable on most applications
+ Numpad unusable on most applications

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1247528] Re: Build and distribute intel-virtual-output

2014-03-28 Thread Florian Echtler
This bug is still present in the 14.04 beta, and it's a one-line fix:
echo usr/bin/intel-virtual-output
debian/xserver-xorg-video-intel.install
Would make things a lot easier for those using bumblebee instead of
nvidia-prime.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1254092] Re: Touchpad not recognised on Acer Aspire 5720 after upgrade to 13.10

2014-03-28 Thread UbUK
Christopher, I am not 100% sure what a backport is but to try to answer
your question, the touchpad stopped being recognised correctly after
upgrading to 13.10 (and the scrolling stopped working correctly too).
It was recognised correctly and functioned correctly in 13.04 and many
previous releases going back several years.

I hope that sufficiently answers your question but if you need any
further information please let me know and I will answer quickly.

The problem as originally reported still exists. Nothing has changed.
I would really like this issue to remain open until it is fixed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1298517] [NEW] Rendering issues in unity with xserver-modeset

2014-03-28 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Starting to report this against unity, feel free to re-assign against
the correct package (the xserver or llvm-pipe?). With the current Trusty
image (64bit) installed into a VM (KVM or Xen) that uses the default
Cirrus graphics (using virt-managers VNC viewer), I see at least two
issues:

1. Occasionally (not sure how to force it to happen) the mouse pointer
will not be rendered while input grab is active. This leaves no
indication about where the mouse pointer is. In some cases it seemed to
help when I switched to a text console and back.

2. Near to unreadable gnome terminal sessions. Background seems half
transparent, half unset. Text barely readable.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites

2014-03-28 Thread TazX
I have the Gigabyte U24-ti5. I may be wrong, but it seems to happen a
lot less when I'm using the mouse (which seems to automatically disable
the touchpad. Possibly touchpad related? Anybody else have an Elantech
Touchpad?

I must admit to not being keen to test Trusty while it's still in alpha.
I'd have to downgrade my kernel first as well, I'm pretty sure?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 589485] Re: Ignores physical display size and calculates based on 96DPI

2014-03-28 Thread Michael Shigorin
Could someone provide an update on the status?
Upstream insists on keeping xorg broken along winxp lines; I wouldn't be
surprised if they fix it in wayland some day, years after winvista and ages
after it worked in X. I'd call this $name_that_sexual_minority default based
on the methods used to push it :-/

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1267742] Re: Screen artifacts appear after restart and cold boot

I got this behavior today, many pieces of the previous windows 7 boot,
inside of my user account (interesting, this did not appear in the
lightdm). When my desktop finished to charge, the wallpaper replaced the
artifacts of windows 7.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1214508] Re: nvidia-settings =319 segfaults on close

2014-03-28 Thread Fink Nottle
The official version of nvidia-settings-304 in the precise-updates
repository points to version 331. So if you have precise-updates
enabled, even if you try to install the 304 version, it will install 331
by default. One needs to manually select an older version to get around
this bug.
