[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1307877] [NEW] Laptop Monitor Brightness reduced to minimum and disabled after disconnection from external monitor.
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hi, I have the following problem under Ubuntu 14.04. As soon as I disconnect my external monitor from my Laptop (Lenovo X1 Carbon), the brigthness is reduced to minimum (backlight switches off) and I can not increase it again. When I use the brightness control keys the brightness bar shows that it is set to maximum even though it clearly is not. Using the control keys still changes the brightness bar but does nothing to the brightness itself. Upon a restart of the laptop the brightness returns to its maximum and is controllable again. I encountered this problem under the Unity version shipped with Ubuntu 14.04, but it might happen with other desktop managers as well. This problem did not exist when my Laptop was running under Ubuntu 13.10. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- Laptop Monitor Brightness reduced to minimum and disabled after disconnection from external monitor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307877 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1293425] Re: [Dell Vostro 3550] Display resolution keeps switching with external monitor connected
I think the workaround can almost be confirmed, I no longer have issues described in this bug report. I am only waiting for Lee Willis to confirm that it works the same for him and IMHO then the workaround can be official. I have made a script (path-to-my-script) with contents: xinput disable 7 xinput disable 8 xinput disable 17 Then I did: chmod +x path-to-my-script And I have put this in my /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf: session-setup-script=path-to-my-script And now the workaround is automated and I don't have to wory about it anymore. Note: The numbers after xinput disable are likely to be different on another computer, so you have to first determine, which numbers correspond to Video Bus and another Video Bus and Dell WMI hotkeys. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1293425 Title: [Dell Vostro 3550] Display resolution keeps switching with external monitor connected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1293425/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1308192] [NEW] armsoc-exynos stopped working on Chromebook after upgrade to trusty
Public bug reported: After updating from saucy to trusty armsoc exynos driver stopped working on Samsung ARM Chromebook. Just after booting the system screen goes black and only mouse coursor is visible. I can move it, but screen is still black. Similar problem was described on blog: http://blog.cyphermox.net/2013/10/hacking-with-samsung-arm-chromebook-on.html Turns out my device booted fine into Trusty, but it would only show a black screen with the mouse cursor. If you moved the mouse, you could see the cursor changing but still nothing else. It may not be the same issue as that patch seems to have already been applied... The workaround is to use fbdev that works properly. ** Affects: xf86-video-armsoc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: xorg log https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308192/+attachment/4084648/+files/Xorg.0.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-video-armsoc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308192 Title: armsoc-exynos stopped working on Chromebook after upgrade to trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-video-armsoc/+bug/1308192/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1307623] Re: new X1 Carbon 2014 + Onelink Pro dock + 30inch monitor: no native resolution
Ok, installed these two debs from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/current/ linux-headers-3.14.0-994-generic_3.14.0-994.201404150253_amd64.deb linux-image-3.14.0-994-generic_3.14.0-994.201404150253_amd64.deb I actually had error during the installation (see attached kernel_install_error.txt) Nevertheless, I rebooted and 3.14 kernel is available from grub menu and I booted with that kernel, here is what I got: * build-in mini-DP port (DP1) still works at 2560x1600 (see attached xrandr_dp1.txt) * DP port from the Onelink Pro dock (DP2) works at 2560x1600 now. Yeah!! (see attached xrandr_dp2.txt) * However, my laptop display is always dark, even though it shows on from Displays settings. It actually flashed once and then turned dark when it's turned on. Even when I reboot the laptop without any external monitor, it's still dark. To summary, looks like the latest 3.14.0-994.201404150253 kernel fixed the issue with the external monitor on the onelink pro dock, but had another bug with my new X1 Carbon touch's build-in display. I too like to help out with beta- testing so that these types of issues are discovered and can be worked on to deliver a more polished release. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1308312] [NEW] Keyboard Key XF86AudioPlay has no support
Public bug reported: Hello, The play/pause key on my logitech K260 is XF86AudioPlay, which currently does nothing when pressed. The expected result would be to toggle play/pause in the current playing music application in the volume indicator, which I believe is currently the case with most Play/Pause keys. I'd be happy to add it in if I was told what package the volume indicator was in. Thanks for the help! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) = ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308312 Title: Keyboard Key XF86AudioPlay has no support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1308312/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1308317] [NEW] applications in full-screen do not align properly after minimization
Public bug reported: This is a problem with mouse-clicking sections of the firefox window that are unresponsive. I'll try to describe the problem. Firefox is open and set to fullscreen/maximize. You press the minimize button to send Firefox to the launcher. After opening firefox, by clicking on the launcher icon, firefox returns to fullscreen/maximize and appears normal. However, the tabs at the top are unclickable. The mouse button is an I-beam - or text-editing cursor - instead of a pointer when hovering over the tabs. Clicking changes the position of the I-beam in the text url below. This happens without regard to which programs are open, or whether or not anything else is open. There seems to be a 50/50 chance of clicking firefox from the launch pad, and having this happen. It seems as though the firefox window is adjusting to maximize and leave room for the menubar at the top, but the GUI does not anticipate the menu bar. There is about a 10 pixel discrepancy between where the mouse points, and where it registers. This happens to ALL applications set to full-screen mode after minimization. This video should help shed light on the problem: http://tinypic.com/r/2jfcepi/8 I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 beta.
