[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1283938] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep
Confirming this on a desktop machine, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K with built-in Intel graphics and no additional video card at all. Suspend/resume was working just fine on 13.10. After upgrade to 14.04 suspend still works, but upon resume the screen is blank. The only way to get it back is to go to a text console and force-kill X so it respawns. I'm running KDE as my desktop, in case it matters. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283938 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1283938/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 985414] Re: Unresponsive area on screen
Christopher, petroo, Xubuntu images are available at http://releases.ubuntu.com/ . To be honest, I have given up on this fault. In the meantime I installed a 3.11.0-19-generic kernel for Ubuntu 12.04. The ill corner is still there, but beyond its visual appearance it does not hinder anything. So I have come to live with it. Thanks for your continued effort but I would like to close the case, as was suggested already. Please move on to more urgent problems! Kind regards, Peter -- g.o.e.theLinguAdapt Dr. P. RoosenU. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1310313] Re: Dual monitor configuration not saved (
I'm having the same issue, using two monitors, one of which (B) is rotated and placed at the left of the landscape-oriented main monitor (A). When the machine starts, the lightdm login screen has B configured to the right of A and not rotated. After logging in, I use the gnome-control-center to fix the display settings, which works nicely. After hitting Apply and confirming the new configuration, everything is awesome. After logging out or rebooting the machine, everything is back in the initial, unconfigured state. My graphics driver is xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.10-1ubuntu2. The setup worked without any error in 13.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1310313 Title: Dual monitor configuration not saved ( To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1310313/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1301839] Re: AMD Radeon HD 8670A/8670M/8690M[1002:6660] Low-graphic mode with Trusty
I was able to resolve this with the following steps on a Dell Lattitude E6440 (Radeon HD 8670a): I did a full update (sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get dist-upgrade) and installed Gnome (sudo apt-get install gnome), selecting GDM as the display manager. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1312318] [NEW] brightness level not remembered on HP ZBook 15
Public bug reported: Anytime I boot up the system, it always sets the display brightness to 100%. I can reduce the brighness using the Fn F9 key stroke. Similarly I can increase the brighntess using the Fn F10 combination. (This did not work until recently - see my bug report 1257766). However, even now the chosen value is not remembered. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1312437] [NEW] large cursor flickers or disappears
Public bug reported: When the cursor is set to a large image it flickers or disappears completely. With nouveau the bug does not happen. Reproduced with nvidia 195 in lucid, 304 in precise, and 331 in trusty running compiz, metacity, and gnome-shell. It seems to be less severe under metacity: the cursor still flickers but doesn't actually disappear as often. It also seems to be less severe in trusty than in precise, but still flickers badly and occasionally disappears. Upgrading to nvidia 331 in precise didn't change anything, so I think some other component is also related. Disabling HWCursor in xorg.conf doesn't change anything under metacity, but under gnome-shell and compiz it makes the cursor (any size, including the default) flicker and disappear all the time. ktuberling is affected by this bug. It uses Qt's QWidget::setCursor() to replace the cursor with an image of the item you clicked on. Smaller items work and larger ones flicker or disappear. With nouveau it works as expected, there is no flickering. Attached is a trivial Qt program that demonstrates the bug using QWidget::setCursor(). On my system (GT218 [GeForce 210]) the bug appears with cursors larger than 64x64 px. I don't know whether that number is hardware-dependent. Can I provide any other useful information? ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: lucid precise trusty ** Attachment added: sc.cpp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312437/+attachment/4095841/+files/sc.cpp -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312437 Title: large cursor flickers or disappears To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/1312437/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 998546] Re: 0408:3003 Touch-screen did work on 11.04 but no longer works on 12.04
I confirm that it doesn't work in 14.04. Here's the irony. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1283938] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep
As an addendum, I've found that, on my laptop (Toshiba Portege R835-p70), this only happens when the lid is shut and the computer goes into sleep mode. Putting the computer into sleep through the power menu or 'pm-suspend' does not cause this issue. It seems to be isolated to the lid. I do recieve 'not authorized' messages from the power manager when waking occasionally.
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1311523] Re: Nvidia won't select 14.04 LTS
Looks like rebooting while connected to power will not allow the GPU to work. No matter if the GPU is connected to the monitor over hdmi and working fine before rebooting. So the jury-rigged fix for now: 1. Unplug from power 2. Reboot and log-in 3. ~$ sudo prime-select nvidia 4. Plug in HDMI (verify in settings the monitor is detected) 5. **Now** plug in power I wonder if this is an issue with nvidia-settings, prime-select, or an acpi thing? Anywho, I hope this helps some folks out until the issue is resolved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311523 Title: Nvidia won't select 14.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-settings/+bug/1311523/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
