[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1385369] [NEW] After Upgrade to 14.10 Unity No Longer Loads
Public bug reported: Laptop is an Acer Aspire V5-552PG-X809. AMD A10-5757M Processor with Dual Graphics (Radeon HD 8560M embedded, and Radeon 8750M dedicated). FGLRX driver was working fantastically prior to upgrade to Ubuntu 14.10. After upgrade, after login to desktop Unity will not fully load (desktop loads, but Dash and unity side bar does not). FGLRXINFO reports no devices found. I have tried the FGLRX, FGLRX-UPDATES, and the latest driver straight from AMD, none of them have worked for me. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1314213] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad X220] External DP1 monitor extremely unstable since upgrade to 14.04
This happens often when my laptop even with power supply left alone for a while for the screens to get turn off. When I log back -in or press a key to get to login screen, the second monitor never turns on. I have to unplug and plug the monitor DVI cable to get the monitor to show the screen. This is happening on my lenovo x1 carbon which has intel hd4000 graphics. = [ 11.201868] [drm:intel_dp_start_link_train] *ERROR* failed to enable link training [ 11.208716] [drm:intel_dp_complete_link_train] *ERROR* failed to start channel equalization [ 11.241197] [drm:cpt_verify_modeset] *ERROR* mode set failed: pipe B stuck [ 11.305306] [ cut here ] [ 11.305364] WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 1250 at /var/lib/dkms/i915-3.15-3.13/0.01/build/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:9763 intel_modeset_check_state+0x5bc/0x770 [i915]() [ 11.305365] encoder's hw state doesn't match sw tracking (expected 1, found 0) [ 11.305366] Modules linked in: ctr ccm acpi_call(OX) snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_codec_realtek rfcomm bnep bluetooth uvcvideo videobuf2_vmalloc videobuf2_memops videobuf2_core videodev hid_generic usbhid hid binfmt_misc joydev snd_hda_intel snd_hda_codec snd_hwdep snd_pcm snd_page_alloc snd_seq_midi snd_seq_midi_event intel_rapl x86_pkg_temp_thermal snd_rawmidi intel_powerclamp coretemp kvm_intel kvm crct10dif_pclmul crc32_pclmul ghash_clmulni_intel snd_seq arc4 aesni_intel aes_x86_64 lrw gf128mul glue_helper iwldvm ablk_helper cryptd mac80211 serio_raw iwlwifi thinkpad_acpi cfg80211 snd_seq_device wmi nvram snd_timer snd soundcore mei_me parport_pc intel_smartconnect mei i915(OX) ppdev video lpc_ich drm_kms_helper(OX) drm(OX) i2c_algo_bit mac_hid lp parport psmouse ahci libahci sdhci_pci sdhci [ 11.305392] CPU: 2 PID: 1250 Comm: Xorg Tainted: G OX 3.13.0-37-generic #64-Ubuntu [ 11.305393] Hardware name: LENOVO 3460AJ1/3460AJ1, BIOS G6ETA7WW (2.67 ) 06/12/2014 [ 11.305394] 0009 8800c6c11b80 8171ed09 8800c6c11bc8 [ 11.305396] 8800c6c11bb8 8106773d 8800c6c11c38 0001 [ 11.305398] 88021219f000 88021219f320 88020eab8800 8800c6c11c18 [ 11.305399] Call Trace: [ 11.305403] [] dump_stack+0x45/0x56 [ 11.305406] [] warn_slowpath_common+0x7d/0xa0 [ 11.305408] [] warn_slowpath_fmt+0x4c/0x50 [ 11.305418] [] intel_modeset_check_state+0x5bc/0x770 [i915] [ 11.305427] [] intel_set_mode+0x25/0x30 [i915] [ 11.305436] [] intel_crtc_set_config+0x8ed/0xdc0 [i915] [ 11.305447] [] drm_mode_set_config_internal+0x61/0xf0 [drm] [ 11.305455] [] drm_mode_setcrtc+0xd9/0x5e0 [drm] [ 11.305461] [] drm_ioctl+0x229/0x600 [drm] [ 11.305469] [] ? drm_mode_setplane+0x410/0x410 [drm] [ 11.305473] [] do_vfs_ioctl+0x2e0/0x4c0 [ 11.305475] [] ? __sb_end_write+0x31/0x60 [ 11.305477] [] ? vfs_write+0x192/0x1f0 [ 11.305479] [] SyS_ioctl+0x81/0xa0 [ 11.305482] [] system_call_fastpath+0x1a/0x1f [ 11.305483] ---[ end trace d0acff2a2d4c1e2d ]--- [ 11.305508] [drm:intel_pipe_config_compare] *ERROR* mismatch in has_dp_encoder (expected 1, found 0) [ 11.305510] [ cut here ] -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314213 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad X220] External DP1 monitor extremely unstable since upgrade to 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1314213/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 941826] Re: dlopen(libGL.so) resolves to mesa rather than nvidia
barcc, that second approach won't work. import ctypes from ctypes import util ctypes.CDLL(util.find_library('GL'), ctypes.RTLD_GLOBAL) That should be better, but I can't reproduce the bug myself, likely because it's an Optimus notebook. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941826 Title: dlopen(libGL.so) resolves to mesa rather than nvidia To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/941826/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1385089] [NEW] keyboard sometimes doesn't respond at login
Public bug reported: I have tried diferant display managers (kdm nd lightdm) both are effected sometims whn my sister turns on her netbook she can't type in her password untill she puts th cmpute to sleep and wakes it up again, this seems to be randome, from what I have been able to fine from googling all over the place plymouth is to blame for this, seems to be if it is still running when whateverdm starts you will not bable to type. on my own laptop I have had the same problem and was able to fix it by adding a sleep 2 before exec lightdm in /etc/init/lightdm.conf my sisters netbook needed more then that, he delay got to 6 seconds long and still wasn't reliable, I had to modify /etc/default/grub to ass text after splash then put service lightdm restart in rc.local so she could login most of the time. she has had the problem in 14.04 and now in 14.10, I have had it sense 13.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+7ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-23.31-generic 3.16.4 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-23-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu8 Architecture: i386 CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Fri Oct 24 01:43:10 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-04-30 (176 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release i386 (20140416.1) SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to utopic on 2014-10-24 (0 days ago) ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 kubuntu utopic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1385089 Title: keyboard sometimes doesn't respond at login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1385089/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
