[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1273652] Re: "apply" of multi-monitor setting results in crash
I believe the problem is a mismatch between the driver and the settings app. The nvidia-settings attached to driver 304 is actually 331...if you manually install nvidia-settings 304 (the deb for which you can dig up somewhere on the nvidia-settings launchpad/files page) all is ok -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1273652 Title: "apply" of multi-monitor setting results in crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-settings/+bug/1273652/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1364292] Re: [Toshiba Portégé R600-10Q] VGA output doesn't work with Intel GM45 chipset
No, nothing changed. The bug still exists. Was there any reason to believe that it wouldn't? Closing bugs on which there has been no comment for 60 days is absurd. It's the equivalent of brushing dirt under the rug. But I don't want to check the latest image every 60 days on the off chance something has changed, when nobody is trying to fix this - that's a complete waste of my time. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1386620] Re: re-enable rotation for the intel driver in optimus mode
I've verified xorg-server rotation works correctly. On utopic I had issues with rotation, when using xrandr --output HDMI1 --rotate left in normal mode. Bisecting it shows it was caused by introducing dri3 support, and cherry picking some upstream patches fixed it. The trusty patches to xxv-intel don't introduce dri3 support so it's unaffected by the hang I've discovered. But on trusty with those patches rotation works for me as it should. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386620 Title: re-enable rotation for the intel driver in optimus mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1386620/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1389215] Re: Brightness controls are not working in Unity / Xorg.
Some more clarification. I tried under KDE Plasma 5.1 (Neon) and still I could not change the brightness of the backlight. However, the CLI commands that fail in a terminal running under an Xorg session work flawlessly under a console (). cd /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0 echo 5 >brightness # Works under the console! echo 10 >brightness # Works under the console! This all suggest that somehow, Xorg is inhibiting the brightness control. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389215 Title: Brightness controls are not working in Unity / Xorg.
