[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1278223] Re: Mouse Flickering after adding 3rd Monitor

2014-11-20 Thread Pavlo
Same problem.
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Notebook Dell Precision M4800
Intel graphics card only
3 monitors: built in(1920x1080), HannsG HZ281(VGA, 1920x1200), Dell Inc.
24"(Display port, 1920x1080)

After I connected Dell monitor to display port cursor started to flicker
on first two screens. It stops when I turn the third monitor off. When I
run something with high refresh rate flickering goes crazy, sometimes I
can't even see the cursor

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1394869] [NEW] Trackpad click does not work for HP Stream 11

2014-11-20 Thread nemith
Public bug reported:

I have installed ubuntu 14.10 onto a new HP Stream 11 laptop. The
trackpad is a clickpad where the entire trackpad is pushed down to
simulate a click, there are no other buttons. It seems that the
trackpad works fine with the exception that no clicks are registered.

'ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg-input-synaptics' could not be ran as it doesn't seem
to have an option to hit "send" from the keyboard and the mentioned mouse
button is not working.

I followed the information collection from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection and the files will be
attached to this bug

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1132736] Re: Xorg fails to start after installing the hardware enablement stack on precise due to missing symlink after purging old xserver-xorg

2014-11-20 Thread Nathanaël Naeri
This bug affected me too (on Precise LTS) after purging xserver-xorg
residual config once I installed xserver-xorg-lts-trusty.

I can confirm that reinstalling/reconfiguring xserver-xorg-lts-trusty
fixed the problem (I used apt-get --reinstall install xserver-xorg-lts-
trusty).

It took me a few hours to understand what was going on though. I agree
with jerico that the bug is high impact and hard to debug for an average
user.

It looks like it can affect anybody upgrading to Trusty LTS or Trusty
HWE Stack.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 877765] Re: [Latitude E6510] X crashes when lid is closed

2014-11-20 Thread Nil
Daniel, I have have encountered this problem on a daily basis. While I
tend to avoid closing the lid now knowing it'll crash after some time, I
avoid doing so, but I do test it every now & then to see if it's been
fixed. Definitely still exists. Running up to date 14.04. Should I be
creating a different bug report?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 735162] Re: menu application appears behind window application

2014-11-20 Thread Daniel Miller
Same thing here on 12.04 (old, I know)

Let me know if you guys need any more data! I've just confirmed that the
previous 'compix --replace' works, though it's a pain. It screws up all of my
workspace layouts.

Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1388887] Re: two cursors instead of one

2014-11-20 Thread Christopher Barrington-Leigh
Thanks!
I do use external screen rotation when I'm docked.
I hadn't noticed a simple association, but that might be at least one trigger
for the problem.

Also, trying these steps from the other bug:

xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate left

# do something, click a few buttons...

xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate normal

did cause a double cursor for me just now.

So this is likely it. Does that mean we can easily get a fix in 14.10?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1393905] Re: Graphic driver crash on youtube

2014-11-20 Thread Alex Kot
I'm not sure about the logs, but I have exactly same symptoms, and while
googling for solution I've came across a handful of other descriptions
of a very similar problem at StackOverflow. Here are the links:

http://askubuntu.com/questions/534883/laptop-screen-goes-black-but-laptop-still-running

http://askubuntu.com/questions/486257/chromium-inspect-element-causes-black-screen
http://askubuntu.com/questions/543790/youtube-causes-black-screen
http://askubuntu.com/questions/547149/since-updating-to-ubuntu-14-04-chromium-causes-black-screen
http://askubuntu.com/questions/540910/ubuntu-screen-goes-black-after-loading-youtube
http://askubuntu.com/questions/541862/black-screen-when-playing-youtube-videos
http://askubuntu.com/questions/508796/ubuntu-14-04-chromium-causes-black-screen

Noticeably most of these questions were posted within last month, and
this corresponds to my own observations - my problem started around
three weeks ago. So this all seems to be related to a recent update.

Btw, I have Ubuntu 14.04 at Dell D630, Chromium 38.0.2125.111 and Unity.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1379180] Re: AMD Radeon HD 8670A/8670M/8690M [1002:6660] No HDMI audio with open-source / proprietary driver

2014-11-20 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Hello Anthony,
This issue still exist even tested with the latest oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms -
0.201411191501~ubuntu14.04.1 from the PPA .

However, I found out that this issue is identical to bug 1383997, the detection
works with power source plugged.
And adding the following entry into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf could make
it work without power source plugged:
"options snd-hda-intel jackpoll_ms=500"

Thanks
