[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1104230] Re: DisplayPort 1.2 MST support is missing in the Intel driver
Sorry about that. 3.16.0-26.34hf73386v20141126b1 is much improved. I'm able to set modes on my external monitors now, but whether or not they work is somewhat inconsistent. For example, right now my configuration is like this: http://people.mozilla.org/~bhearsum/sattap/ae5e1315.png, but the yellow vertical monitor has no picture. If I fiddle with settings, move monitors, I get different results. The built in always works, but one of the external monitors almost always doesn't. All 3 were active at one point, but in a very wrong configuration. There's also some other weirdness like the rotation on the green monitor not always matching what's shown in the display settings. I'll attach a log from an attempt at configuring things as I'd like them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1104230 Title: DisplayPort 1.2 MST support is missing in the Intel driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1104230/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1396684] [NEW] synaptic driver hinders wake from sleep
Public bug reported: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise2: amd64, stops my Dell Studio XPS 1645 (Late 2009) to wake up from sleep. The screen stays black, but the computer starts, I can wake the screen if I connect an external monitor. Of course I first thought the problem was the graphics driver. But I got the same problem in Windows 8.1 when I installed the latest Synaptics driver (which is not signed, perhaps for this reason?). And the problem disapeared when I uninstalled that driver. So I tried the same in my Linux Mint 13 installation, downgraded xserver-xorg-input-synaptics to 1.5.99.902-0ubuntu5, and the problem was history. I was not able to report it using ubuntu-bug since it is not an official LinuxMint package. So I'm not sure what to do. But I report it anyway, so everyone else with this problem can find my workaround. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1104230] Re: DisplayPort 1.2 MST support is missing in the Intel driver
Elvis, no, sorry, not yet. I was focusing on Utopic as it is the first step to get it accepted to Ubuntu. What worries me is that the current build for trusty 3.13 worked for Wouter (comment #78) and does not work for you. That makes me wonder if your configuration is even supported by this feature. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1104230] Re: DisplayPort 1.2 MST support is missing in the Intel driver
Because of work I have no time to upgrade into 14.10 just because of the kernel 3.16, I think in some point soon 3.16 should be available also for 14.04 trough the standard repositories channel. 14.10 is kind of new and I'm aware if will be buggy or not for my particular setup, in the past I had to many bad experiences and time waste keeping my system always in the last release, so I prefer only to upgrade and run the risk of the new release install only when an LTS version comes out. Anyhow I will make another tryout to this last build you made for kernel 3.16 on your ppa and see if now it works for me still under 14.04. I'm also on the doubt if my system supports DP 1.2. But, for being a DELL XPS 14 a modern laptop I'm 90% sure it should. I think I will be asking to DELL support if they can provide me a confirmation about this for my particular hardware.
