I put the following into /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-jabra.conf: Section "InputClass" Identifier "Jabra" MatchProduct "GN Netcom A/S Jabra EVOLVE LINK MS" Option "Ignore" "on" EndSection This prevents the pointer issue described in the bug at the cost of breaking the volume control buttons. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1581626] [NEW] Switching to USB sound device stops USB mouse clicks from registering
Public bug reported: When I switch the primary sound device to a USB headset connected to my laptop, mouse click events no longer work except in the Sound Settings window. This does not seem to occur when the device is connected, only when it is made the default audio device. Once this occurs, the mouse events do not work until the device is disconnected. Clicks inside the Sound Settings window are registered (including buttons and other tabs inside the System Settings window, but not the titlebar or close/minimize/maximize buttons.) Focus can be given to other windows via alt-tab and keyboard input continues to function, but mouse events do not register on windows focused in this way. This is *deeply* weird, BTW. Hardware: Jabra EVOLVE 80 headset lsusb reports: Bus 002 Device 022: ID 0b0e:0305 GN Netcom Steps to reproduce: 1. Connect the device to a USB port. 2. Open Sound Settings window. 3. Select the Jabra USB device as the primary sound device. 4. Observe that mouse clicks no longer register outside of the System Settings window. dmesg shows the following during this process: [130169.130542] usb 2-2.1.1: new full-speed USB device number 22 using xhci_hcd [130169.223026] usb 2-2.1.1: New USB device found, idVendor=0b0e, idProduct=0305 [130169.223031] usb 2-2.1.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [130169.223034] usb 2-2.1.1: Product: Jabra EVOLVE LINK MS [130169.223036] usb 2-2.1.1: Manufacturer: GN Netcom A/S [130169.223038] usb 2-2.1.1: SerialNumber: 51E7669007 [130169.225586] usb 2-2.1.1: 1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x83 [130169.227472] usb 2-2.1.1: 2:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x4 [130169.248162] input: GN Netcom A/S Jabra EVOLVE LINK MS as /devices/pci:00/:00:14.0/usb2/2-2/2-2.1/2-2.1.1/2-2.1.1:1.3/0003:0B0E:0305.0013/input/input34 [130169.302858] hid-generic 0003:0B0E:0305.0013: input,hiddev0,hidraw5: USB HID v1.00 Device [GN Netcom A/S Jabra EVOLVE LINK MS] on usb-:00:14.0-2.1.1/input3 [130169.351940] usb 2-2.1.1: 1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x83 [130169.352187] usb 2-2.1.1: 1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x83 [130169.358162] usb 2-2.1.1: 2:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x4 [130169.358439] usb 2-2.1.1: 2:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x4 [130169.361073] usb 2-2.1.1: 1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x83 [130169.361323] usb 2-2.1.1: 1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x83 [130169.373535] usb 2-2.1.1: 2:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x4 [130169.373904] usb 2-2.1.1: 2:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x4 [130169.380322] usb 2-2.1.1: 1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x83 [130169.380645] usb 2-2.1.1: 1:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x83 [130177.637403] usb 2-2.1.1: USB disconnect, device number 22 This appears to possibly be related to bug #1371853. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1581370] Re: Keyboard/Mouse input dead after upgrade to Xenial
I decided that it is about time to do some serious cleanup. I found no good guide cleaning to the extend I wanted so I wrote one. This fixed the issue for me. If anybody comes by this bug - I hope it might help you as well. If you, like me installed and uninstalled a lot the following might help you to clean up. In my case I had a Server that srated on 12.04 and went through various ppa's and ups/downs. For example I once had issues with KDE leading me to round robin uninstalls/reinstalls/purges. Eventually I realized that set a lot of things to installed which would be no more needed or even trigger issues now. That left me with a lot of crap that affected my otherwise nice new upgrade to 16.04 To clean up and get rid of a lot without really reinstalling I did the following: # First I wanted to get rid of old ppas, especially in case they still would overwrite even the newer packages ppa-purge "ppaname" Other than just apt-add-repository -r this also tries to revert to the original See this for more: http://askubuntu.com/questions/309966/difference-between-ppa-purge-and-add-apt-repository-r # Next I got a list of all manual installed packages comm -23 <(apt-mark showmanual | sort -u) <(gzip -dc /var/log/installer/initial-status.gz | sed -n 's/^Package: //p' | sort -u) > manual.txt # Clean up in this file, remove all packages from this list that you would like to keep vim manual.txt # Then set all these packages from manual to auto installed while read p; do sudo apt-mark auto ${p}; done Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1581370 Title: Keyboard/Mouse input dead after upgrade to Xenial To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1581370/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1559805] Re: suspend not working with latest xenial and kernel 4.4.0
I have the same problem - hanging during a suspend. I've tracked the problem to the driver for the Radeon HD8690M card in my Dell E6440 laptop. If I rmmod the driver, the suspend/resume works ok. Only problem I have noticed is that without the driver loaded, the power consumption goes up by 4W. So, as a workaround, I unload the driver before the suspend and reload it after. A small script in the directory /lib/systemd/system-sleep/ will take care of it automagically. This my first post - can I insert the script here? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1559805 Title: suspend not working with latest xenial and kernel 4.4.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1559805/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I don't see any other way than maybe stop building rest of mesa using shared glapi, but I don't know what that would break if anything -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551028 Title: glGenFramebuffers fails when linked with OSMesa AND X11 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1551028/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1581370] [NEW] Keyboard/Mouse input dead after upgrade to Xenial
Public bug reported: Following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Desktop_Applications and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze as good as applicable: dmesg: http://paste.ubuntu.com/16386293/ /var/log/Xorg.0.log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/16386296/ /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state: http://paste.ubuntu.com/16386300/ Have you experienced just one lockup, or have you had a series of these lockups? => 100% reproducible If you've had several, how often does it occur? Every few hours? Once or twice a day? Couple times a week? => hits lockup (or just all input devices failing) on everey init of lightdm/X11 When did you first notice it? => After Dist-Upgrade from Trusty->Xenial After changing compositing (Desktop Effects) settings? => No changes made yet, let me know if I should Only when using compositing (Unity, et al) => I had a short moment of a living lxde, but it was not reproducible => Tried Unity and KDE as well, but it hangs at the greeter already - before the Desktop system is up Kernels: I noticed also some graphical glitches with the Xenial Kernel (some colors are wrong, like highlights would flip to cyan) Can't make a screenshot Xorg: I didn't see an xorg-edgers or ubuntu-x-swat for Xenial yet, so I couldn't easily try something here. Debugging only works via ssh login atm - but since lokal input is broken anyway ... If I boot into recovery more without UI and also in Bios Key are working fine. So it shouldn't be a general HW issue. It stops me from auto-reporting by telling me about "This is not an official Ubuntu package. Please remove any third party package and try again." I ran ppa-purge on all I had - still doesn't let me do it. I also purged all of gnome/xorg/unity and reinstalled, but no improvement - maybe I missed something. Since it didn't make a difference I reinstalled what I considered needed chrome and google-musicmanager. I'm willing to help debugging, but I'm not experienced in doing so for X11 - especially since none of the logs I checked contain an obvious error pointing me to something. If you have more logs to check or some other advice please let me know. Public bug reported: its a duplicate of this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video- intel/+bug/1025092 and is reported here also, affects nvidia cards: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2167023 steam launcher is suspect (since its the first thing to load), and it also affects gnome. as the xserver-xorg-video-intel package team says, its probably because of a pageflip race condition.. possibly the unity dash teams fault. i am willing to provide logs and other details. just ask :) i am using the amdgpu 1.99 drivers from the oibaf ppa. they work well, but this dash problem has plagued me over 2 distros and countless driver versions for over a year! its either steam, wayland or a common demonator between gnome and unity. thanks for your time. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1581366 Title: Clicking Home on Unity Horizontal Dash Freezes WHOLE COMPUTER To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu/+bug/1581366/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
