[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1637081] [NEW] Xorg high load
Public bug reported: Xorg after day work can begin to consume 100% of CPU time. At this time, other applications are not seen to be consumed more than 5% of the load. After close other application, system performance is not restored. This problem independent from the video card and used driver. Reproduced on the GeForce 9500 GT (driver nouveau, and integrated with the i5-3330), and GeForce 6800 drivers 304.131. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1636859] Re: I can't install new version 16.04.01
As you seem to be using an end-of-life release, Ubuntu 15.04, then you should take a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades/. Almost certainly not a bug and not an xorg problem but please so provide further information so that you issue can be properly assessed. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1636737] [NEW] Mouse stops working after a while...
Public bug reported: After updating Kubuntu 15.10 to Ubuntu 16.10, the USB wireless mouse stops functioning after some minutes. The time involved varies from 5-10 minutes to hours. After rebooting the PC the mouse works again. Sometimes it helps if the USB dongle is moved to another USB connection, but most of the time rebooting is the only option to reactivate the mouse. The mouse (HP NU566AA) was delivered with the HP Pavilion dv7 laptop and has always worked OK and works perfectly when connected to another (Kubuntu 16.10) PC. Fortunately, the build-in touchpad remains operational. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1636486] Re: External screen flickers (esp. in terminals) with xorg modesetting driver on Intel Broadwell
Hi, Doesn't looks like a duplicate of bug 1626935 to me! The flickering in my case happens: - only when something light happens in somewhere on the external screen (like entering a single character in a terminal window). When nothing happens on screen, or when using graphics-heavier apps (like a web browser), the screen doesn't flicker - the flickering is not similar to a triple buffering issue neither is related to the nautilus wallpaper -- it looks like a DisplayPort reset (ie, as if you disconnect/reconnect the monitor), with a 2-3s complete blackout of the monitor - this is specific to the modesetting driver. The xserver-xorg-video-intel driver is fine. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1626935 [yakkety] desktop is black and/or flickering after plugging in a second monitor -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1636486 Title: External screen flickers (esp. in terminals) with xorg modesetting driver on Intel Broadwell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1636486/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Public bug reported: Symptoms: - I cannot login to the graphical session neither using lightdm not lxdm - After typing password and hitting enter the login screen disappears and reappears after 4-5 seconds - Login as guest does not work as well - Worked before, I am not aware of having done anything special - Login on console works - Tried several hints, like those from http://askubuntu.com/questions/223501/ubuntu-gets-stuck-in-a-login-loop, http://askubuntu.com/questions/590561/ubuntu-14-04-login-loop-problem - not a permission problem with .Xauthority, .ICEauthority, /tmp - not a graphics driver issue - sudo pam-auth-update --force did not help According to lightdm.log, authentication succeeds and it stops greeter and starts gnome-session, which seems to fail with: CRITICAL: session_get_login1_session_id: assertion 'session != NULL' failed in ~/.xsession-errors I get: openConnection: connect: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden cannot connect to brltty at :0 upstart: gnome-session (GNOME)-main-Prozess (2158) wurde mit dem Status 1 beendet upstart: logrotate-main-Prozess (2023) wurde von TERM-Signal beendet upstart: bamfdaemon-main-Prozess (2080) wurde von TERM-Signal beendet upstart: Vom benachrichtigten D-Bus-Bus getrennt ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "lightdm.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1636718/+attachment/4767384/+files/lightdm.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1636718 Title: Grapical login fails (independent from Display Manager) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1636718/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
