[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1821397] [NEW] internal error when attempting to calibrate monitor using Spyder Pro 2

2019-03-22 Thread Perri Poirier
Public bug reported:

ColorVision Spdyer 2 Pro was confirmed to work with Windows as I was
able to calibrate another monitor 15 min after "internal error" message
on Ubuntu, also tried using alt driver for GTX-970 video card
(proprietary and x-org)

The message occurs after being asked to place the Spyder Pro 2 on the
screen and click NEXT to proceed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1821318] Re: FFe: Wayland 1.17 for disco

2019-03-22 Thread Timo Aaltonen
this is the more interesting changelog from rc1:

Chris Billington (1):
wayland-util.h: add forward declaration for wl_object

Derek Foreman (1):
configure.ac: bump version to 1.16.93 for the RC1 release

Pekka Paalanen (3):
contributing: use Gitlab merge request workflow
  tests: add request_bogus_size
connection: fix demarshal of invalid header

Is there anything that's useful for disco? I don't see it.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1818899] Re: [nouveau] After Ubuntu Base update tp 4.15.0-46-generic computer freezes after login

2019-03-22 Thread Gerald
Hi,
just an update, probably not related to the nvidia driver issue itself but
perhaps useful for people that stumble upon this page for a similar problem.

The startup hanging et ubuntu logo stopped without updating anything but
grub2 when i switched it to verbose mode.

method :

Edit /etc/default/grub and edit the following line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

Change it to:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="--verbose nosplash debug"

Then, run the following command in a terminal
sudo update-grub2

Regards

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1588009] Re: "libinput bug: timer offset negative" keeps coming up in syslog

2019-03-22 Thread jnns
I'm affected by this as well. I can't really interact with my system
anymore because input and scrolling is interrupted every few seconds.
/var/log/syslog keeps filling up with messages like:

> libinput error: client bug: timer event7 tap: offset negative (-495ms)

htop reports gnome-shell using 100% CPU very often as well. I'm using a
Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2018 with
- gnome-shell 3.30.2-0ubuntu1.18.10.1
- libinput-bin 1.12.1-1
- mutter 3.30.2-1~ubuntu18.10.4

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1772512] Re: Unable to install i386 and amd64 arch at the same time

2019-03-22 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Hello Maciej, or anyone else affected,

Accepted libxkbcommon into bionic-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxkbcommon/0.8.2-1~ubuntu18.04.1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1819383] Re: VEGA 64 config for 1680x1050 is incorrect

2019-03-22 Thread Philip Pokorny
I tried the latest v5.0.3 kernel and it has the same behaviour.

I notice that the drm output happened before but not recently. And the
different sizes seem normal as the 3840x2160 main HD monitor that's new
says something similar but it works fine:

kernel: [  187.417408] [drm] {3840x2160, 4000x@533120Khz}

I'll add the "kernel-bug-exists-upstream" tag, mark it confirmed and
attached dmesg output. But the DRM module no longer logs the screen
resolutions...

So that would go into /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and that would be all that's
in it? I don't have an xorg.conf currently, and I haven't edited one in
