[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1921637] Re: Intel UHD Graphics 620

2021-03-28 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report.

1. Are you able to attach a video of the problem?

2. Please try selecting 'Ubuntu on Wayland' on the login screen just
before you enter your password (icon in the bottom right corner of the
screen). Does the problem persist after that?

3. Please try some slightly older/newer kernel versions and tell us if
they have the same issue: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/?C=M;O=D

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1921556] Re: computer crash

2021-03-28 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report.

Please:

1. Remove your kernel parameter "drm.debug=0xe" as it will prevent us
from easily debugging this problem.

2. Reboot.

3. Reproduce the crash again.

4. Wait 10 seconds.

5. Reboot again.

6. Run:

   journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

7. Attach the resulting text file here.

8. Also follow these steps to check for crashes:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1921637] [NEW] Intel UHD Graphics 620

2021-03-28 Thread Hubert Swic
Public bug reported:

Running Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS.

Having consistent screen flickering on my display. No issues on Windows,
only on Linux OS. The screen glitches and flickers consistently
regardless of what I do. Straight from booting into user selection
screen. The BIOS (Lenovo) Logo does not flicker, only once Linux is
loaded that flickering begins. I have a 4k display on my laptop, and I
have tried running 1080p 120Hz / 60Hz, 4K whatever. The flickering never
stops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm happy to send dmesg or any
extra debugging necessary.

After intensive research and asking other forums, it has been said that
the issue is with the Intel Driver, specifically the above package
reported.

Many thanks,
Hubert

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1921618] [NEW] Black wallpaper instead than set image

2021-03-28 Thread Andrea Bonarini
Public bug reported:

The image set as wallpaper appears for one second and then is replaced by a
black screen.
This occurs after a hard reset. After a suspension: nothing worked and I had to
do a hard reset by switching the machine off. At restart I'm in the mentioned
situation and the usual methods to reset the wall paper do not fix the problem.
Thank you!
