[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 545671] Re: Mouse works in GDM, mouse doesn't work once logged in

2010-05-31 Thread Adam Blackburn
Touchpad just started working again with the following output in dmesg:

[39540.156901] psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost
synchronization, throwing 4 bytes away.
[39540.664949] psmouse.c: resync failed, issuing reconnect request

Went like this:

In X, keyboard stopped working (just randomly)
Switch to VT
Switch back to X, keyboard and mouse both work

This bug appears to still not be fixed despite being set as fix
released.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 545671] Re: Mouse works in GDM, mouse doesn't work once logged in

2010-05-30 Thread Adam Blackburn
I'm still having an issue with this on a fully-updated Lucid system (the
same one as in the original report). Touchpad works fine in GDM, works
fine immediately after resume from suspend (for a second or so) then
completely stops responding to touches. It had gone away for a while but
has returned in the last couple of days. External mice work fine.

What version is this resolved in? It's still happening on my up-to-date
lucid.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 545671] [NEW] Mouse works in GDM, mouse doesn't work once logged in

2010-03-23 Thread Adam Blackburn
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

My touchpad stops working once logged into GNOME. The touchpad works as
expected in GDM.

Expected:
Touchpad works normally after logged into desktop.

Actually happened:
Touchpad stopped responding during the GDM - Desktop transition.

To reproduce:
Start Lucid and log in. Mouse will stop working once logged in. This happened
even through reboots.

I managed to get the mouse working by switching to a VT (ctrl+alt+f1)
and then back to X (ctrl+alt+f8).

Found in dmesg:
[ 2605.987852] psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost
synchronization, throwing 4 bytes away.
[ 2606.494511] psmouse.c: resync failed, issuing reconnect request

It seems to work now even after a reboot now; I'm not sure what changed.
Let me know if more information is needed.
