[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 994895] Re: nvidia-current driver did not work no my gt 555m card

2012-06-29 Thread Amir Eldor
Hello, also an ASUS N55SF at my possession. I've installed bumblebee from the
PPA and the issue seems to be resolved.
There seems to be no more crazy heat coming out of the air vents and by running
`optirun nexuiz` it ran smoothly and nicely as opposed to running `nexuiz`
which was a bit choppy (using the Intel driver I persume).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 982485] Re: [regression] Nvidia 295.40: Unity 3D does not work at all with the new nvidia driver

2012-05-01 Thread Amir Eldor
I don't know about you boys and gals, but I removed the nvidia-current
package and it fell back to using the nouveau driver. This means I am
now on Unity 3D and it works for me just fine.

I didn't try 3D games yet though, and I guess that would require the
'real' nvidia driver.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 640609] Re: desktop background has wrong size when zoomed with laptop and external monitor attached

2011-01-13 Thread Amir Eldor
I opened system preferences monitor, which showed a little note
that it will open the nvidia-settings instead of the regular gnome
monitor dialog. I then followed your idea but a bit differently as it
did not work first. I marked the laptop screen as the primary monitor
and now the backgrounds do not overlap. I saved the changes to
xorg.conf.

However, when I logged out and the login screen appeared, the little box
where you enter your password was not centered on the big monitor but
instead centered at the top-left region of the screen, as if it was
centered around 1280x800 resolution and not the 1650x960 resolution.

I fixed this again after editing the xorg.conf file and settings the DFP
resolution to 1650x960 and now the backgrounds do not overlap, the login
screen's box is centered, and when the external monitor is not attached
the laptop monitor is working correctly.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 640609] Re: desktop background has wrong size when zoomed with laptop and external monitor attached

2010-11-11 Thread Amir Eldor
This is the Xorg log after tweaking my xorg.conf (setting both CRT and DFP to
the same resolution).
Do you wish to see the Xorg log after restoring the original xorg.conf file as
the bug appears again?
