[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 761065] Re: [Sandybridge] Spurious "*ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... blt ring idle" messages in dmesg when using compiz
On Lenovo g570 ubuntu 12.10 worked perfectly. After upgrade to 13.04 X-Windows started locking up (only the mouse cursor was reacting to mouse movements, but nothing else). The lockup occurs after couple of minutes working in gnome-classic-fallback window manager, no 3D activity was done at the time (at least intentionally). The X lockup is accompanied by messages like these in dmesg (every second or so): [ 533.963858] [drm:i915_hangcheck_ring_idle] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... render ring idle [waiting on 25899, at 25898], missed IRQ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/761065 Title: [Sandybridge] Spurious "*ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... blt ring idle" messages in dmesg when using compiz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/761065/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1072148] Re: Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card
During my experiments with kernel 3.2.0, the xorg also crashed. I had to disable X11 acceleration for 3.2.0 kernel to work. Same story with kernel 3.5.0. This means that I erred on comment #2 where I claimed that simple reversal to 3.2.0 fixed the problem. Apparently I forgot to mention that somewhere inbetween I disabled X11 acceleration. For what it worth, I tested the 3.7.0-030700rc2-generic kernel and found that it behaves the same way as the 3.2.0 and 3.5.0 kernels - e.g. there is no difference between them (from the bug's perspective). Before upgrade to ubuntu 12.10, both kernel (3.0.0 I guess) and X11+acceleration worked properly. I will update the bug's title to represent the fact. ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => xserver-xorg-video-sis (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card + Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card when acceleration is on -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-sis in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1072148 Title: Segfault on SiS 65x/M650/740 card when acceleration is on To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-sis/+bug/1072148/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 990914] Re: segmentation fault when running xkbcomp
>From http://www.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/ServerDebugging: Likewise, some gdb versions crash when starting the X server when attempting to run xkbcomp. This is, amazingly enough, a bug in the kernel's DRM code for suppressing some signals; it should be fixed in 2.6.28 if not earlier. You can disable XKB by passing the -kb option on the server's command line; obviously if you're trying to debug XKB this may cause you some problems and you're probably better off attaching gdb to a running X instead. Alternatively, disable DRI, but again, if DRI is the thing you're trying to debug, that won't help. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990914 Title: segmentation fault when running xkbcomp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/990914/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 566542] [NEW] totem player on xserver-xephyr does not redraw damaged areas
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xephyr I use xserver-xephyr for multiseat environment on top of ATI Radeon X300SE card. The system is ubuntu 9.10 amd64 with gdm pinned to version 2.20.10-0ubuntu2. Builtin video player totem is barely acceptable for use, as it does not redraw damaged (by mouse) screen areas during playback. We have to be extremely careful not to touch the mouse during playback, as each mouse movement causes black squares to appear on mouse path. The black squares are then never redrawn unless I switch to full screen from windowed mode or switch from full screen to windowed mode. The problem appears in both windowed mode and full screen mode. Probably related problem is that pressing "F11" to switch to full-screen mode results in garbage screen, whereas using View->fullscreen mode button from the menu - works. Other video players (xine, mplayer) apparently use different video output mode as they don't have such problem. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- totem player on xserver-xephyr does not redraw damaged areas https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/566542 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 351251] Re: Jaunty Gimp running inside Xephyr causes a Segmentation fault
As I wrote on 2009-10-04, the bug does not happen on karmic. Gimp works perfectly, without crashes. Consider to close the bug and reopen it should the problem reappear. -- Jaunty Gimp running inside Xephyr causes a Segmentation fault https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351251 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

The bug does not happen on karmic. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 311076] Re: hang on BOGUS LENGTH in write keyboard desc
About a week ago I did exactly that (Installed xserver-xorg-core package from karmic on jaunty) and I had no failures since then. In my case failures also happened when I was using VMWare player, but I am not sure it did not happen when I was not. -- hang on BOGUS LENGTH in write keyboard desc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311076 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
