[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1159839] Re: Xorg freeze nouveau + cinnamon

2014-01-09 Thread Daniel Schürmann
Hi Christopher,

it looks like the problem is gone since a while or happens at least less often.

Currently I am using
* Ubuntu 12.04
* xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20111201+b5534a1-1build3
* firefox 26.0+build2-0ubuntu0.12.04.2
* cinnamon 2.0.14-20131203040103-precise

I am not able to test a development release, because this is my
productive machine.

Kind regards,

Daniel

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 973096] Re: Nvidia driver causes xorg crash

2012-06-12 Thread Daniel Schürmann
For me, simply using:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/i386/nvidia-current/290.10-0ubuntu2
solves the problem as mentioned in #15

Also available:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/amd64/nvidia-current/290.10-0ubuntu2

I have installed it with:
sudo dpkg -i nvidia-current_290.10-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
and have locked the version in synaptic.

I am running this driver for about week and I have seen no regressions
since than.
