[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 507241] Re: A black border surrounds all dialog boxes when Appearance is set to Normal or Extra
i'll assume that Travis Watkins knows better than I about the source package, thankfully the package was changed before apport-collect so everything is still relevant. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 507241] Re: A black border surrounds all dialog boxes when Appearance is set to Normal or Extra
Since the bug only happens when the appearance setting is Normal or Extra I think the bug is in compiz which replaces the default window manager when Normal or Extra is chosen from the appearance setting. To give compiz developers all relevant information please type apport- collect 507241 in a terminal. This will use apport, a bug reporting tool to collect information about your system needed to fix your bug and add that information to this bug- report. More information about using apport can be found at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs -- A black border surrounds all dialog boxes when Appearance is set to Normal or Extra https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/507241 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 413707] Re: [Karmic] Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module
In this bug. i reported it after rebooting using a different xorg.conf and then stuck on the the old xorg.0.log. So it may be a bit confusing iv refiled the bug as bug 415718 I reported that bug from shell using ubuntu-bug cli so its fresher from the very environment the bug occurred in. so Im invalidating this bug. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-nv (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- [Karmic] Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/413707 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nv in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 413707] Re: [Karmic] Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module
I dont belive this bug belongs to xserver-xorg-video-nv as the problem seems to be that the proprietary nvidia kernel module isnt being loaded...? see the Xorg.1.log xorg.conf shows the nv driver, i Belive because that was the driver that was in use when i used ubuntu-bug, I know its confusing, I can attempt to refile the bug if its needed. -- [Karmic] Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/413707 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nv in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 413707] [NEW] [Karmic] Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Just did a fresh install of Karmic alpha 4 fully updated, selected to load the restricted drivers for my nvidia card. It searched and downloaded them however the green light in the gui menu that shows the drivers are active did not light up. I shrugged it off and rebooted. Ubuntu fell to a shell login apon reboot. I changed xorg.conf to the nv driver and rebooted and everything came up fine. Sorry in advance if this bug should be set against another package. Since i rebooted i added the xorg log corresponding with the problem as well not sure if ubuntu-bug would pull it in.
