[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1791493] Re: Unwanted VT switch from alt + arrow keys

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1791493] Re: Unwanted VT switch from alt + arrow keys

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1791493] [NEW] Unwanted VT switch from alt + arrow keys
Public bug reported: Recently the VT switching shortcut keys changed from ctrl+alt+arrowkeys and ctrl+alt+F-keys to just alt+arrowkeys/f-keys. This conflicts with many application keybindings, such as Firefox history back/forward. I don't know which package is to blame, xorg-server is my best guess. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1033242] Re: X server crashes
This started happening frequently enough that I broke out the xorg sources and figured out how to associate the crash address to a line number. (*) It's crashing at the line where it's dereferencing client-osPrivate, I'd guess there's a missing null check of client-osPrivate at the start of AttendClient, since many other functions in os/connection.c do a null check on that one but AttendClient doesn't. Of course it still might be a can't-happen situation for some implicit reason and something bigger is going wrong... (*) install dbg version of xorg core package, get source and start build far enough to apply patches, then use print function-name in gdb to get address of function, and apply the offset from xorg log like list *(0x1234+0x32) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1033242 Title: X server crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1033242/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 901630] Re: multitouch + qt doesn't work (eg fingerpaint demo) with wacom serial touchscreen
I finally got around to following through the config hackery described at http://www.murraytwins.com/blog/?p=103 (the trick was to remove the existing wacom .conf, i think i earlier just chmod 000'd it but Xorg was running as root so read it anyway). And it worked, kind of. I got fingerpaint working with 2 fingers, and then Xorg promptly (about 2 secs in) crashed. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 683694] Re: copy and paste keys do nothing
This should be assumed broken in natty unless proven otherwise, since googling about the problem yields similar reports from over the years. In fact since iTux chimed in, I'm marking this confirmed. (I'm not planning to update the machine in question to natty in the near future). ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/683694 Title: copy and paste keys do nothing ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 655279] [NEW] chromium webgl demos fail on gm45
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Google published some webgl demos for chromium, but they all hang on gm45. They work on my work machine (lucid + nvidia proprietary drivers). steps to reproduce: 1. get chromium from daily ppa (apt-add-repository ppa:chromium-daily/ppa, aptitude update, aptitude install chromium-browser) 2. launch chromium 3. go to http://dev.chromium.org/developers/demos-gpu-acceleration-and-webgl 4. witness all demos hanging (after a while a popup appears offering to kill unresponsive tabs, clicking wait for a few times makes no difference). Most of the demos at http://www.khronos.org/webgl/wiki/Demo_Repository hang too btw. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 645281] Re: lucid + gm45 freeze with Naali viewer
(reporting against xserver-xorg-video-intel since using ubuntu-bugon linux first refused to generate report while intel-drm-next kernel was installed, and then after i removed it, it crashed on a dangling vmlinuz link). so, steps to reproduce on lucid; * check out and build naali (git clone http://github.com/realXtend/naali.git; cd naali; bash tools/build-ubuntu-deps.bash) * launch it (cd bin; ./viewer) * click on Enter world * witness freeze I followed https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze - * stock lucid: nothing in kernel.log or Xorg.log * drm-intel-next kernel + lucid xorg: behaved same as stock lucid. Nothing in /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state * drm-intel-next kernel + xorg-edgers drivers-only: same as above * drm-intel-next + xorg-edgers full ppa: x failed to start I logged in from another machine and tried to find out where the hang was. Funnily only alt-sysrq + b works from the console, no other sysrq keys, but I got the task dump using echo -n t /proc/sysrq-trigger. These are using the stock lucid kernel + xorg.
