Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 92599] Re: Incorrect (low/stuttering) refresh rate with NVIDIA driver
@Daniel and Chauncellor: I seem to have exactly the same problems mentionned by Chauncellor : - problem is only on Compiz 0.9 (NVidia GeForce GTS240, driver ver. 280.13 on x86_64) - Problem only affects moving windows around and dragging icons. - The very first window movement (right after logging in) works perfectly - I have disabled DynamicTwinView : no improvement - I have disabled Detect refresh rate in xorf.conf : no improvement - I have forced refresh rate to 60Hz (this is what my monitor says) : no improvement - I have set Force full screen redraws on repaint : no improvement So I'm not sure whether this is tearing or stuttering or something else but if Chauncellor creates a new bug report, I'd like to know the bug number so please mention it in this thread. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/92599 Title: Incorrect (low/stuttering) refresh rate with NVIDIA driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/92599/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 672874] [NEW] Show Current Layout image is showing VoidSymbol too
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config In the file, we can explicitly tell the system to not produce anything with a particular key by using VoidSymbol. It works fine, however, the Show Current Layout image also displays VoidSymbol or just … when there isn't enough space. If VoidSymbol is not used, the system checks the next highest keyboard layout in the list for a corresponding value, something like: if layout2:key5 is empty then produce layout1:key5. At least this is how it always happen on my end using Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop 64-bit and Ubuntu 10.10 UNR 32-bit. I think the system when generating the Show Current Layout image should just leave VoidSymbol as empty, not displaying VoidSymbol or …. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 538648] Re: [Intel GM45] Irregular sync flashes on 8086:2a42 (Needs i915.powersave quirk)
@ Andy Whitcroft I hadn't the time to try that kernel of yours but latter maybe this weekend I'll try then. I have another *maybe interesting* fact to report: I installed KDE in this Ubuntu 10.04 and since then I have no screen glitches/flickering! Nothing at all. Even in Gnome. Maybe this problem/bug is related to the gnome-power-manager or something? Notice I'm running '2.6.32-22-generic' kernel and this Ubuntu 10.04 was a fresh install. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 538648] Re: [Intel GM45] Irregular sync flashes on 8086:2a42 (Needs i915.powersave quirk)
Hello, I also have this weird bug in my Sony Vaio VGN-FJ1S with an Intel 915 VGA. Strangely this only started yesterday I guess (!) Well more important: I found a workaround for this: Add to Panel... CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor and then I set it to work at 1.33 GHz (the max. for me it's 1.73 GHz) and it's ok, no more screen dim/flickering ! Nevertheless I hope this will be fixed soon.
