[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1978980] Re: [amdgpu] Wrong external screen resolution after wake up from sleep
I don't know if my problem is the same as this bug or not. Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS clean install. Dell Latitude 5520 laptop. I have two external monitors attached, one via HDMI and one via USB-C (different resolutions on each monitor) After the screen locks, when coming back after 15 minutes or so and putting in my password to resume my session, the USB-C monitor has changed to a lower resolution and the layout of the three monitors has changed around. I correct this by unplugging the usb-c connector and plugging it back in again whereupon everything goes back to how it should be. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1978980 Title: [amdgpu] Wrong external screen resolution after wake up from sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1978980/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1173238] Re: Ubuntu starts up to black screen.
I'm seeing the same behavior on an HP 530 laptop (don't have it in front of me at the moment; it's either a 945GM or 940GML chipset according to specs) after an upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04. A workaround I've found is entering the GRUB menu manually and booting with options "quiet splash" removed. Also worth note is that I have removed those options by default by editing /etc/default/grub and running update-grub. But the workaround only seems to be effective by manually entering the GRUB menu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1173238 Title: Ubuntu starts up to black screen. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 781956] [NEW] Compiz tweaking crashed new gui
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Just after a network upgrade from 10.10, the GUI worked fine, at least until I changed a few settings that made the menu bars disappear and now after several reboots it still fails to load the menu bars. The classic gui works fine but I like the new one is set up, and hopefully it can be restored. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 665546] Re: Drop and sub menus don't always show up
I attached apport info above. I too am experiencing this problem. Often a menu will highlight when I click on it, but the contents will not appear. I can click several times with no effect. Sometimes adjacent menus also will not show up, but it seems inconsistent. To get the menu to appear, I usually click elsewhere on the screen (e.g. the desktop background) and then go back to the menu and try opening it again. Note that I am NOT running an nVidia driver. The hardware driver listed under the "Additional Drivers" system admin menu is "ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver." I'm sure the apport info has more specific details. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665546 Title: Drop and sub menus don't always show up ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I'm also getting this issue. (1440x900 monitor being incorrectly given 1280x1024 resolution). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 569879] Re: Non-admin user logout fails on Lucid
I sometimes experience a similar problem, although I have an nVidia graphics card. The stack in the attached KDM log appears close, but not exactly the same, as the one posted in #5. For me, this seems to be proceeded by my up key no longer working in KDE. If I then logout, I get a blank black screen and cannot do anything locally (no VT switching, etc). I don't get anything displayed the way others have described (messages, cursors, etc). However, I can SSH in and restart KDM to restore it. ** Attachment added: "kdm.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48352263/kdm.log -- Non-admin user logout fails on Lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569879 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 553406] Re: Unexpected logout with GLib errors
This seems to happen when the flashplayer plugin ('/var/lib/flashplugin- installer/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so' from 'flashplugin-installer') is used. Most flash games on FaceBook cause the crash. So this may be a problem with Adobe's plugin BUT no simple user program should cause X to crash completely either, so there's obviously some kind of problem with an X package or the nVidia drivers as well. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => Incomplete -- Unexpected logout with GLib errors https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/553406 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
