[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2060354] Re: Segfault in 2:21.1.4-2ubuntu1.7-22.04.9
In my case (Android Studio 2023.2.1, also based on IntelliJ, on a fully- updated Jammy), with the editor antialiasing set to "grayscale", the crash is 100% reproducible (same stacktrace) as soon as any file is opened. The default setting, "subpixel", doesn't seem to cause any issues. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2060354 Title: Segfault in 2:21.1.4-2ubuntu1.7-22.04.9 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/2060354/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1765223] Re: random distorted parts on screen
It is quite impossible to take a screenshot of such issues. It is quite random. I had this issue on Ubuntu 16.04, and I decided to use other Intel driver, which solves the issue. Currently, I am using Ubuntu 18.04 with the built-in VGA drivers and it's working fine. Thanks, Javier. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1575878] [NEW] Xorg freeze when see videos or animation 16.04
Public bug reported: When videos are played the system randomly freezes to start playing the video, or when it takes a few minutes. It also happens with animations webs. So, now that oneiric is released and stable, this may be a good point for you to upgrade and re-test if this issue is still present there. If it's solved in the new release and you think it's worth backporting the fix, please indicate that. Or if having the fix in the new release is good enough, feel free to close out the bug (or let us know and we'll close it.) If it's not solved, leave the bug report open. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 783002] Re: Auto logoff ubuntu 11.04
I have done two things and the bug seems to have gone away (but I have to do some more testing in the next few days). I updated to a newer Kernel: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kernel-ppa/ppa sudo apt-get update I believe it is 2.6.39-1 generic. WARNING: This is more bleeding edge, so if you don't know how to restore to the previous Kernel, don't try it. (During booting, hold the shift key to get to the GRUB menu and choose booting with a previous Kernel. That at least will give you your system back to then back down to the previous kernel). After doing that, I also updated my NVIDIA drivers using the following repository: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates sudo apt-get update If you are going to add x-swat to your sources, it is important to install ppa-purge, also available in the repositories. YOU MUST DOWNGRADE YOUR NVIDIA DRIVER BEFORE MOVING TO A DIFFERENT UBUNTU VERSION, that is why you need ppa-purge. With the newest Kernel and the newest NVIDIA driver (both installed two days ago in my x64 Asus computer) so far I have not experienced any crashes. I hope this helps, but please USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/783002 Title: Auto logoff ubuntu 11.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/783002/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 41301] Re: Mouse clicks stop working sporadically
I had the same problem with Fedora 12 linux running a laptop Acer Aspire 5100 (and occurs with fedora 14 and 15). The external USB mouse has the same bug described here, while the touchpad does not. Since several people have mentioned that they use Logitech wireless mice, I tested a wired USB mouse ($1 from ebay). It works perfectly, so this may be specific of those Logitech USB mice/wireless, have others noted this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41301 Title: Mouse clicks stop working sporadically To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/41301/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 462436] Re: Desktop background becomes black when desktop effects are enabled on GNOME and KDE
** Description changed: I have a computer with 1 GB RAM, 200 GB hard drive and an ATI Radeon 9200 Pro video card. Desktop effects worked on previous versions of Ubuntu and also on Mandriva Linux on this computer when my video card is using the open source 'ati' driver. I downloaded and burned the Ubuntu 9.10 RC desktop livecd ISO to a CD. I booted my computer from the CD. When it got to the desktop, the desktop background was black. However, although the background was stayed black, the desktop effects were working (for eg, when I switched virtual desktops the virtual desktop switching effect worked). I changed the wallpaper but the background still remained black. When I disabled desktop effects, the background became normal and showed the proper background. I went to SystemAdministration and clicked the Hardware Drivers tool. The Hardware Drivers tool said that no proprietary drivers were being used. I installed Ubuntu 9.10 RC to my hard disk. After installing it and rebooting from the hard disk, the problem was still there. I installed kubuntu-desktop, logged out of GNOME and logged into KDE. When I logged into KDE KDE's desktop effects were not enabled. I went to KDE's system settings tool and clicked display and clicked enable desktop effects. The background became black. I disabled KDE's desktop effects and the background became normal. I installed all the available updates for my system and rebooted, but after rebooting the problem was still there on both GNOME and KDE. + + === SOLUTION === + + Add this to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf: + + Section Device + Identifier my-radeon + Driver ati + Option AGPSize 128 + EndSection + + See http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8221972postcount=6 for more + info -- Desktop background becomes black when desktop effects are enabled on GNOME and KDE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462436 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

_dan_: Yes I see. But you didn't state your graphic card and the bug was hickjacked by people with ATI cards and this bug. Most of the info there is Ati-related, and every comment but yours look related to this problem with the ati drivers. Sorry but it seems like the ati problem is way more common than yours, and we (ati-users) steal you bug away. I still believe that you should open another one.
