[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 772111] [NEW] Rotation while composite enabled results in garbage on smaller of 2 displays
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati On natty, Running xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:6.14.0-0ubuntu4 I have a 1680x1050 display and a 1440x900 display. I'm trying to get the smaller one into portrait mode. It works fine normally, but with compiz or gnome-shell (and xcompmgr iirc), the smaller display (whether it's primary or secondary) just looks like static, that varies a bit based on what's getting displayed on either. Screenshot looks normal. 2.6.38-8 (from ubuntu natty), ATI Technologies Inc RV620 LE [Radeon HD 3450] Photo of display: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=46129 (rotated with xrandr, but not physically rotated (yet) ) X log: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=46130 ** Affects: xserver-xorg-driver-ati Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #36644 http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36644 ** Also affects: xserver-xorg-driver-ati via http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36644 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772111 Title: Rotation while composite enabled results in garbage on smaller of 2 displays ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 147943] Re: [MASTER] broken initial stacking (was: compiz hides quick loading windows at login)
I've also been able to hit this with openbox and xcompmgr or cairo- compmgr, and only with gnome-panel. It may not be a gnome-panel bug, but a common behavior in compositing managers that can be triggered by gnome-panel. ** Also affects: xcompmgr (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #606431 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=606431 ** Also affects: gnome-panel via https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=606431 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xcompmgr in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147943 Title: [MASTER] broken initial stacking (was: compiz hides quick loading windows at login) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 359392] Re: [i965] X freezes starting on April 3rd
Here's a new one: I just got a old scientific linux machine's X server to freeze with the same symptoms. The trick is that the X clients were from an Ubuntu Jaunty machine running inside Linux-KVM. The host machine does have an intel chipset, but it's using a geforce 8600 gt as its display. Not sure if it's relevant, but it sure seems interesting. Both the host and guest machines are still up.
