[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 747717] Re: 11.04 - opening too many windows causes new windows to render blank white

2013-03-14 Thread Luke Hoersten
This bug stopped happening for me as well in 12.04 since actually. I
think I installed nvidia-304 from the nvidia website instead of through
apt in order to get RandR and at the same time fixed the problem.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 968845] Re: bcm5974 touchpad doesn't work after S3 on MacBookAir

2012-06-12 Thread Luke Hoersten
I'm still having issues where after opening my screen, the touch pad
detects single clicks as some kind of move window with handles event.
This is certainly not fixed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 968845] Re: bcm5974 touchpad doesn't work after S3 on MacBookAir

2012-05-14 Thread Luke Hoersten
Chase, I did both to confirm. The test I use is the network manager's
connect to hidden network and then the dropdown to select previously
connected to hidden networks. First boot it works just fine with
clicking the trackpad as well as tapping. After suspend, clicking always
acts as a double click (effectively opening and closing the dropdown
very quickly) and tapping works just fine. So at least for me, the
problem seems to be isolated to clicking on the trackpad.

I'm sorry I had that backwards: I connect to hidden wireless networks
after suspend and clicking works but tapping on the trackpad is like
double-clicking. Sorry for the confusion.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 968536] Re: Natural Scrolling broken with software-center in 12.04

2012-05-12 Thread Luke Hoersten
@chascone thanks for the tip but that doesn't work.

$ xinput list-props 11 | grep Scrolling Distance
Synaptics Scrolling Distance (262): -222, -222

$ xinput --set-prop 11 262 -222 -222

(set-int-prop is deprecated)

This successfully reverses the direction of scrolling for things like
Google Chrome but not for the GTK3 apps listed above (Software Center,
Settings controls, etc).

I updated to the latest proposed xserver-xorg-input-synaptics and still
have the single-click interpreted as double-click problem. So this
does not work for me. Is it working for anyone else?

I have this same problem on my Macbook Air 3,1 and would be more than
willing to help with testing/debugging. Probably the easiest way is to
apply patches to a PPA and let the community test.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 972984] [NEW] Mouse doesn't move after suspend on Macbook Air 3, 1

2012-04-03 Thread Luke Hoersten
Public bug reported:

After suspending on the Macbook Air 3,1, the mouse stops responding to
movements. Clicks are still processed (left clicks are however confused
as right clicks). Restarting X fixes the situation. This makes suspend
almost useless on the Air.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 967923] Re: [GT216] artifacting on bootsplash and after suspend

2012-04-02 Thread Luke Hoersten
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 915265 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/915265

Is there already a bug associated with the bootsplash problems? Perhaps
we should just whittle this down to just the bootsplash issues and
assign to Plymouth?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 877438] Re: Unity compiz plugin makes display slow on multi-screen

2011-10-18 Thread Luke Hoersten
I have the same problem with the VGA compatible controller: nVidia
Corporation G98 [Quadro NVS 450] (rev a1) and dual twinview monitors.
Unity compiz was slow in 11.04 but is almost unusable in 11.10. I don't
think it's a problem with the physical graphics card because Windows
Aero stuff runs fine.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 747717] Re: Blank screens have more than two windows open, wrong behavior in some applications.

2011-04-14 Thread Luke Hoersten
This bug affects me as well. Looks like maybe a compiz/video card driver
memory issue because when I have too many windows open, opening more
windows causes the newly opened windows to be blank white.

Resizing the windows to be smaller can sometimes allow the window
content to render.

I can reproduce the problem definitively by running Pandora for about 20
min on latest proposed repos etc. I captured this info from the freeze:
