[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1771660] [NEW] SRU: Make x11-xkb-config M-A: foreign

2018-05-16 Thread Matthias Klose
Public bug reported:

[Impact]

Installing x11-xkb-utils for a foreign architecture is not possible.
This is needed to cross build OpenJDK packages.

[Test Case]

Install build dependencies for openjdk-lts for a foreign architecture.

[Regression Potential]

None, as afar as I can see.

[Acceptance Criteria]

The package builds and is installable for foreign architectures.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1412441] Re: [MIR] libclc

2016-02-04 Thread Matthias Klose
from my point of view having a c++ compiler in main which currently does
not support the new libstdc++ ABI is not wanted. Could you investigate
to build using g++? At least there is a configure option --with-cxx-
compiler

llvm3.7 doesn't build on all architectures. please ensure that it builds
with llvm3.8 (currently only in -proposed). but llvm3.6 should be fine
ok for now, if it will build with 3.8.

yes that was the fix I had in mind.

sure, that would mimic the behaviour we did see before the glibc update, but
papering over the original issue. In practice this shouldn't be an issue
because we only build static binaries in very few cases.

while ld shouldn't stall, xorg-server shouldn't call configure with
these flags.

the reason for this are some hardening bits in debian/rules without a
build-dependency on hardening-wrapper.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 648401] [NEW] mesa-utils still referenced by packages

2010-09-26 Thread Matthias Klose
Public bug reported:

in the 7.9~git20100909-0ubuntu1 changelog I read:

  * Remove all references to mesa-utils now that its no longer shipped
with the mesa source.

but according to http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/NBS/mesa-
utils a lot of packages stull depend on it:

-- maverick/universe amd64 deps on mesa-utils:
fusion-icon
gnome-shell
-- maverick/universe i386 deps on mesa-utils:
fusion-icon
gnome-shell
-- maverick/universe armel deps on mesa-utils:
fusion-icon
gnome-shell
-- maverick/universe powerpc deps on mesa-utils:
fusion-icon
gnome-shell
-- maverick/multiverse amd64 deps on mesa-utils:
playonlinux
-- maverick/multiverse i386 deps on mesa-utils:
playonlinux
-- maverick/multiverse armel deps on mesa-utils:
playonlinux
-- maverick/multiverse powerpc deps on mesa-utils:
playonlinux

this should be fixed for maverick, option for maverick-updates

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 632594] [NEW] xvfb 1.9 and/or metacity not working on the buildds

2010-09-07 Thread Matthias Klose
Public bug reported:

see the openjdk build logs, e.g.

  https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-6/6b20-1.9-0ubuntu1

is this a metacity configuration error, or an xvfb error?

the last working build was on Jul 30:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+source/openjdk-6/6b20~pre2-0ubuntu2

mkdir -p bin
( \
  echo '#!/bin/sh'; \
  echo 'metacity &'; \
  echo 'pid=$!'; \
  echo 'sleep 3'; \
  echo '"$@"'; \
  echo 'kill -9 $pid'; \
) > bin/my-jtreg-run
chmod 755 bin/my-jtreg-run
echo 'xvfb-run -a -e xvfb-run.log -s "-extension GLX" my-jtreg-run "$@"' >
bin/my-xvfb-run
if ! /bin/sh bin/my-xvfb-run true ; then \
  echo "error running $(cat bin/my-xvfb-run)"; \
  cat xvfb-run.log; \
  echo 'xvfb-run -a -e xvfb-run.log -s "$@"' > bin/my-xvfb-run; \
  if ! /bin/sh bin/my-xvfb-run true ; then \
echo "error running $(cat bin/my-xvfb-run)"; \

apparently the script runs a compiler check; I don't know why it fails, can't
reproduce it, but I assume that it tries to compile something which fails. I
mean this testcase
