[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1278223] Re: Mouse Flickering after adding 3rd Monitor

2014-04-19 Thread Nicolas Albert
After updating from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04.

I have a laptop with an Intel graphic card and a VGA monitor plugged. I
use Gnome3 but same behavior with Unity.

 * lightdm dual screen perfect
 * login to my session : IHM freeze, mouse flickering left/right/left/right …
and no VGA monitor
 * just unplug the VGA : works fine on my laptop screen directly
 * login to my wife session : everything works !

I got crazy many minutes and I have suspected xrandr : I seen in a log
file a refresh rate flickering.

I finaly find a ~/.config/monitors.xml and I replace mine by my wife
version : problem solved!

I don't have time to investigate more, but I hope it could help you.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 730278] Re: Xorg fails to start with fglrx in mult-monitor mode with right-rotated monitor

2011-03-09 Thread Nicolas Albert
Thanks cdr.

I updated my driver with this PPA, I removed my workaround, rotate the
screen with the catalyst control center, saved and reboot.

It's just work now.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 730278] Re: Xorg fails to start with fglrx in mult-monitor mode with right-rotated monitor

2011-03-08 Thread Nicolas Albert
Same kind of behavior here :
 * Radeon HD 4670 [RV730XT]
 * Ubuntu 10.10 32bit
 * fglrx from Ubuntu
 * left screen 1920x1200
 * right screen 1280x1024

I can configure screen with the catalyst tool, with the right screen
rotate left. The result is apply directly but when I boot (or restart
Xorg) the computer is unresponsive (like a kernel panic), no keyboard,
no network (can't ssh access).

Then I save a conf with catalyst tool without rotation and reboot : it
works !

So my workaround is to push on the start of my gnome session the following
command :
xrandr --output DFP2 --rotate left

Thanks xrandr, I can dynamically rotate my screen and the result is
here.
