[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1015297] Re: Screen partially darkened after suspend and resume in Xubuntu
Running xubuntu 12.10 (xfce 4.10) with nvidia binary driver (304.51). I noticed something similar to this when using the redshift utility. After a suspend, my screen in the morning would retain the gamma correction from the previous night. Using xrandr manually: ~$ xrandr --query (...) DVI-I-1 connected 1680x1050+1680+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 474mm x 296mm (...) DVI-D-0 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 433mm x 271mm (...) ~$ xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --gamma 1.0:1.0:1.0 doesn't produce any visible results immediatly, but WILL after you switch to another VT and back to X (say alt-F1 then alt-F7). Using the nvidia-settings utility to set the gamma values shows the same behavior, the settings are only applied after a VT switching. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015297 Title: Screen partially darkened after suspend and resume in Xubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pm-utils/+bug/1015297/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 659527] Re: xorg server crashes with nvidia-current
Hi, I'm running natty now, but I reinstalled the system from scratch,i.e., I didn't do an upgrade from lucid-maverick-natty which means i didn't get xfs installed. While using maverick I had a few reproducible X restarts while running pidgin with fluxbox, but I don't know if it's related as I didn't have the chance to run a backtrace. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/659527 Title: xorg server crashes with nvidia-current ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 659527] Re: xorg server crashes with nvidia-current
Hi Eddy, I don't think it's related. Probably my xorg file mislead you, since I reverted to nouveau to be able to post the report. With nvidia- current I tried both with and without xinerama, so I don't think that's the issue. I reverted the system to lucid, but I'll try again this weekend with maverick and make some more tests - do you recommend anything in particular? -- xorg server crashes with nvidia-current https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/659527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Still happening with KDE Version: 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3) Qt Version: 4.5.3 Operating System: Linux version 2.6.31-14-generic (bui...@crested) (gcc version 4.4.1 (Ubuntu 4.4.1-4ubuntu8) ) Distribution: Kubuntu 9.10 Nvidia drivers: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 190.42 Tue Oct 20 20:25:42 PDT 2009 The usual way that I stop this is to press alt-shift-f12 to disable compiz, then enable it again and quickly use the 3d cube to go around a few virtual desktops. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 239235] Re: Compiz eventually begins showing completely black windows
Hi, I've been having this exact problem for quite some time. I was running kubuntu 9.04 and it's as described: after a while, I start getting black windows (menus, dialogs or full applications). One way to have them back is to use the alt-shift-f12 shortcut to disable compiz. Today I upgraded to the kubuntu 9.10 RC and the problem remains. Here's a bit of info: KDE Version: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2) Qt Version: 4.5.2 Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-custom x86_64 Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04 I'm using the stock nvidia 1.85.18.36 drivers. -- Compiz eventually begins showing completely black windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239235 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
