[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 910072] Re: DELL P790 missing crucial refresh rates for critical resolutions
The spec sheet for that monitor doesn't seem to show these frequency/resolution pairings, but they should indeed be possible given the scan ranges its capable of, assuming its efficiency hasn't dropped significantly with age. I wish I could confirm this without reproducing it myself, hopefully this gets fixed, nouveau should be capable of determining safe refresh rates. If you're feeling up to it, you can specify those modes manually: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=83973 and bit more recent: http://askubuntu.com/questions/59621/how-to-change-the-monitors-refresh-rate I've never attempted this myself, so if you run into trouble I'm sure the folks in #ubuntu on IRC can help you out. ** Tags added: hw-specific -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/910072 Title: DELL P790 missing crucial refresh rates for critical resolutions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/910072/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 909176] Re: black screen after logout using gnome 3.2 lightdm
Thanks for your bug report. I gave this a shot on my x220. Upon logging out, my screen is black for maybe half a second, but redraws after that, which might just be normal behavior. I don't have a custom image for my login screen, in the event that ends up being relevant. In any case I'll open a task against xorg. Could you please run apport-collect 909176 in a terminal? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 888872] Re: Unity 3D desktop crashes in Oneiric using ATI Mobility Radeon X1600
It's strange that this problem only manifests itself in a Unity 3d session, yes. However this fits the description of an X problem as described in the Wiki quite well, so I still think we should keep a report against xorg open. Thanks for your bug report. I believe xorg is the correct package to report this against, as it involves the user being thrown back to the login screen (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Graphical_Environment), but the fact that the problem doesn't occur in an Ubuntu-2d session would seem to suggest Compiz may be at fault.
