Found the same graphics issue with launcher and the main application panel (top). Sometimes launcher items' tool tip hovers the main application panel and leaves it rendered incompletely. This info may help in resolving the graphics issues on Intel 8xx boards from all view points. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 823136] Re: Oneiric Ocelot, Alpha 3 - Still the display graphics on Intel i865GvHZ is not appealing (sometimes I see incomplete windows).
Just found a scenario where the above behavior could be easily replicated. Lets say we have 2 folders opened (1. external drive 2. home folder). Now we minimize one of the folder and click on the home icon in the launcher. This would bring up the workspace view where we have an option to select a window from current workspace or from other workspaces. If we click on the minimized window (which would be shown as a white window with home icon in center) to bring it front, it would not be loaded completely. One needs to drag the window to get this graphics issue corrected. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 762135] Re: [i865] natty - display heavily corrupted
@ Candtalan Nope, tried Alpha 2 release last week and still graphics was not that great (launcher). So I had asked you to share the snapshot. Anyways Alpha 3 worked without any issues :). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 762135] Re: [i865] natty - display heavily corrupted
Hello Candtalan, May I know your problematic machine configuration? I am not sure whether Gnome 3 would work without any issues on Intel 865GvHz (just with built- in graphics support). Because when I had tried Fedora 15, it failed to load Gnome 3 and used Gnome 2 saying graphics card does not support Gnome 3 features... Are you able to see and use Gnome 3 launcher component on the desktop without any issues? If so kindly post a snapshot. Thanks a bunch in advance. Even am facing exactly the same issues with Intel 865GVHz described above...Don't we have any fixes yet?? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 752445] Re: Intermittent white window contents when maximizing/switching windows
Mine is nvidia GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a. The problem is exactly same. For Eg: You open firefox , nautilus, Libreoffice in fullscreen. First two of them are fine and the third, Libreoffice window goes white. Try to shuffle them in order the third maximised window will be white. But for flash videoes like youtube the first attempt to 'FULLSCREEN' makes them white. It's just not natty, I upgraded maverick's compiz to latest version with compiz ppa and even that shows similar problem. May be the latest NVIDIA-CURRENT (270.41.06) drivers conflict with latest COMPIZ (0.9.4+bzr20110415). Problem should be sorted as soon as possible, when we are so close to release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/752445 Title: Intermittent white window contents when maximizing/switching windows ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
