[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1902351] Re: forgets touchpad settings
I am experiencing this as well, it worked on 20.04 Focal and is broken on 20.10 Groovy and 21.04 Hirsute as of today with the latest Hirsute packages. I am using GNOME with a Logitech T650 touchpad. If I unplug and replug the receiver it forgets again. I then have to toggle both natural scrolling (Settings->Touchpad) and "mouse click emulations" (Tweaks) each to have it work again. Given this is apparently common accross GNOME and KDE perhaps it is somehow related to libinput rather than gnome-shell/settings/etc? ** Also affects: libinput (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libinput in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902351 Title: forgets touchpad settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kcm-touchpad/+bug/1902351/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1553061] [NEW] Default Hysteresis causes poor, sticky and jumpy movement on Logitech T650
Public bug reported: I have a Logitech T650 touch-pad. Out of the box, this device feels very poor to use because the HorizHysteresis and VertHysteresis settings are quite high. It is very difficult to make small movements, and if you want to move slightly diagonally it is basically impossible. The amount of movement on screen that it jumps is several mm on a 27" 1080p monitor. It's hard to explain how horrible this is to use, but I would consider this "high" on the poor usability factor, not just a minor annoyance. This setting causes movement to be ignored until it reaches the threshold.. it defaults to 0.5% of the hardwares diagonal size or about "14". This is designed to reduce noise on some devices, but I suspect the main issue here is that this is quite a large trackpad that is also very accurate. The hardware area is 2606x2110 which seems to be at least double most laptop trackpads. Further testing on similar devices would be required, but this default algorithm may need some tweaking for device size and to scale better.. but obviously it is hard to know how this will affect other devices. Otherwise is there some way to build up a hardware quirks list? Probably not ideal but better than nothing. The following significantly improves the feel: synclient HorizHysteresis=0 VertHysteresis=0 As a side note, the scroll speed is also quite slow which again I suspect is related to the device being larger than many touch pads. VertScrollDelta and HorizScrollDelta of -65 work much better than the default -78 (or +78 for non-natural scrolling) Neither of these settings can be configured in settings. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553061 Title: Default Hysteresis causes poor, sticky and jumpy movement on Logitech T650 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1553061/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1531422] Re: i915 underrun errors causing screen blanking
Further debugging, I discovered that the screen blanking issue was being caused by a faulty power supply on the DisplayPort Expander/Splitter, it kept resetting. This was causing the errors. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531422 Title: i915 underrun errors causing screen blanking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1531422/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1531422] [NEW] i915 underrun errors causing screen blanking
Public bug reported: I am having issues with my displays blanking out and coming back after 2 seconds, quite often.. sometimes a few times in 10 seconds sometimes once a minute. I only just started using the Intel graphics today, instead of previously using a radeon card. My setup is 1xDVI + 1x Displayport, with a powered mulitlink adaptor to then connect 2 displays. Only the displayport displays blank out. Similar errors to reported in #1451632 -- I am running xenial up to date as of today, 4.3.0-5-generic. These errors keep appearing, but lots of other stuff is also appearing. A bunch more occurred since I ran ubuntu-bug to generate all the xorg data, so i'll attach an extra dmesg log.
